Quartz is one of the most common crystals. The clear quartz alone has become an icon for all crystals. It is shown as the crystal ball of gypsies and as natural rock formations. Yet many people underestimate its power. They see the quartz in the proverbial shop window, but they go in and buy the diamond, the ruby or the jade. Quartz healing is powerful - if you know how to do it.
Quartz crystals come in many colours, shapes and sizes. Generally it is a very powerful stone in both metaphysical and healing areas. Some quartz crystals amplify healing energy while others are used to scan the body to find problem areas. Many crystals also help to draw out negativity causing blockages and pain. Because quartz are such a powerful healer that comes in a variety of colours, they make ideal tools for chakra healing since each chakra is associated with a colour.
Natural forms of quartz are not hard to find. It is after all one of the most abundant minerals on the planet. However, each has a specific formation which can assist in certain areas of healing. The Double Termination with two points at either end promotes energy flow in the body, while the Laser Wand, a longer crystal with one point is excellent for focusing healing energy into a specific point in the body. Although natural crystals have a myriad of shapes, the specially cut Vogel quartz crystals, similar to the double terminated, also encourage a flow of energy by interacting with the subtle layers of the body. There are also five specially cut 'Platonic Solids' which are linked to the chakras in order to balance them for a more specialised healing.
Natural quartz has a stronger energy than artificial quartz for healing, however the latter can have a lattice structure which may be beneficial. This is not to be confused with glass which has no healing benefits. Natural quartz can also be altered or 'Enhanced' for desired healing properties. This may include pressurisation, metal coating or dyeing. It often gives a shiny colour such as Rube Aura which combines clear quartz with gold and platinum to channel energy to ground, protect and heal the root chakra.
There is such a variety of quartz crystals that you may not know what to choose. It may be wise to do a bit of research into your specific illness and see what quartz crystal is best for you. But ultimately the best judgement is when you hold a quartz crystal in your hand and you feel connected. Diamonds and ruby's have their place, but for healing- you can't go passed a Quartz!
