Don't Simply Avoid Stress - Master Good Health With Proven Reiki Healing Techniques

Stress is one of the key components linked to disease in our society today. Managing work, home, and family can pile on stress without our noticing of it. This is why so many people are turning to the stress-reducing techniques such as Reiki, a spiritual energy used with healing, meditation, and spiritual growth.

Starting Reiki

When a person experiences Reiki, an initiation known as "Reiki Attunement" begins. This brings the person into a relationship with Reiki energy, and is usually taught by a Reiki master teacher. During a Reiki attunement, a person's dense energy is cleared and released, and etheric and chakras fields are strengthened causing the person to receive and transmit high frequency healing light. As one progresses, he can progress to master Reiki healing and Reiki symbols as well.

Why do we stress?

Stress takes hold of a person when he is fearful, doubtful, or anxious about life events. He often experiences tensed muscles without realizing it. The body's reaction is fatigue, moodiness and disease. Most people think of relaxation as heading home after work and turning on the TV, going to the gym, or stopping whatever was causing them stress in the first place. Relaxation IS NOT simply avoiding stress; it is utilizing healing by employing techniques such as Reiki.

Reiki eliminates the emotional and physical effect of stress by balancing chi and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system to release healing hormones which restores balance to the body, mind, and spirit. One can return to a relaxed, peaceful state daily by practicing and mastering Reiki techniques.

Relaxation approaches

The top approaches of Reiki healing include trained looking, blowing, and light tapping. Reiki massage incorporates palm healing and energy transfer. Reiki symbols (or simbolos), such as fire and Usui, are also used to transfer healing energy. Musica is often used by drumming and introduces Reiki energy to a person's body through the medium of percussion beat. The musica acoustics create a deep, relaxing state and relaxation begins.

The connection between the physical body, spiritual being, and mind is absolute. There is no way to disassociate the effect of the psyche on the body. Stress is a burden of the mind that leaks into the everyday actions of one's entire being in a negative way. Using Reiki techniques to manage and master stress truly leads a person to a relaxed, peaceful life. As balance re-enters your life you will feel confident in your ability to benefit your home, your job, and your community.

Why Doctors Don't Explain Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Remedies - Where to Turn for Help

Irritable bowel syndrome and remedies related to IBS are further being understood and successfully utilized every day. So why is it that you were only told to take fiber and avoid "risky foods" at your doctor visit instead of being instructed specifically regarding causes of irritable bowel syndrome and remedies to treat those causes?

In this article we are going to go over the top three most common misunderstandings about irritable bowel syndrome and remedies associated with those causes to explain why your doctor gives you so little feedback about your problem. This in turn will help relieve some frustrations you may have experienced up to this point as well as clarify the best sources that exist today for irritable bowel syndrome remedies and cures.

Misunderstanding #1 There are no remedies for irritable bowel syndrome. It is not curable.

To understanding why this rumor exists, you should start by understanding the perspective of your doctor. Irritable bowel syndrome is recognized in the medical community as a medical condition but not a disease. Once your doctor, through means of medical testing, has ruled out that you don't have Crohn's disease, diverticulitis, bowel cancer and colitis, he/she will tell you you have irritable bowel syndrome. They use the name "irritable bowel syndrome" because no actual fatal disease is present that they can fit into a category and it seems very tedious for them to uncover the spectrum of causes that may be upsetting your stomach. To your doctor this term covers a wide range of causes and symptoms that can be complex and holistic in nature.

Below are the major reasons your medical doctor does not offer remedies to your condition:

a) They don't see the problem as fatal even though to you its highly discouraging and life draining in nature on a day to day basis..

b) they don't directly correlate or explain that many other diseases and forms of poor health manifestations can be caused as a result of irritable bowel syndrome including leaky gut syndrome, stress, depression, and endless health deficiencies leading to disease.

c) If the medical community can not make money off of prescriptions or a specific surgery, they are limited in what they can spend time doing regarding holistic or natural remedies.

The doctors are ultimately not to blame for not aiding directly with irritable bowel syndrome and remedies or cures. We need doctors and Md's as they will always be important for the work they do but the overall health system definitely has room for improvement. It would be advantageous for medical doctors to more commonly refer patients to credible holistic doctors and vise versa as they could join under the common goal of healing the individual. Since one focuses more on causes and the other tends to focus more on exterior healing solutions, each tends to differ in many approaches. With added discouragements by way of political, financial and corporate issues, it has been difficult to combine such methods of healing remedies

Misunderstanding #2 irritable bowel syndrome and remedies are the same with every person.

Again, it is the single word irritable bowel syndrome that causes the confusion here. it is simply a word that's been used to lump many different symptoms and causes under one roof for simplification in conversation. Irritable bowel syndrome is like telling someone with low energy that they have "low energy symptom" which is very vague

IBS causes most commonly range from:

A) offset stomach acid balance
B) stomach bacteria has migrated to places it shouldn't be
C) unknown food allergies that are inflaming parts of your stomach
D) you are lacking the proper balance of enzymes.

The Symptoms most commonly experienced consist of:

a) bloating
b) constipation
c) cramping
d) sharp stomach pains
e) random aches
f) sour stomach
And the list goes on and on...

Misunderstanding #3 -Irritable bowel syndrome cannot be cured by natural remedies.

Curable is generally regarded as resolving the issue to the point where it no longer presents itself in the future. Irritable bowel syndrome is not cured at all through medical doctors because medical doctors do not pursue remedies with their patients. Natural approaches however are proving to eliminate IBS both short term and long term. Several holistic experts have discovered ways to recover the offset balance which is causing the irritable bowel syndrome in the first place. This primarily has to do with ph/acid imbalances in the stomach along with misplaced bacteria. Once these balances are corrected, many of the patients no longer experiencing the symptoms. From there it is a matter of maintaining the balance, enhancing with enzyme supplementation, and restoring the body regularly with adequate nutrition. This approach goes far beyond simply avoiding foods or taking the occasional fiber. It attacks and remedies the cause at its root. If you have irritable bowel syndrome and are seeking real remedies or cures, rest assured there is much you can do now to free yourself.

So how should you approach finding remedies for irritable bowel syndrome?

A good holistic doctor can do wonders for people dealing with IBS through use of natural remedies and by attacking the causes we've listed. Not all of these doctors are highly effective however. Because holistic approaches are so wide spread it can be tricky to find doctors that are focused on the grounding principles of medicine with the benefits of natural remedies and expertise.

The Fifth Chakra - Three Important Tips

By Anne Dessens Diamond Quality Author Anne Dessens
Level: Diamond

Anne has been passionate about self-improvement for over two decades. She enjoys sharing her knowledge so much with other people that she built an entire ...

What is the fifth chakra and what energy source is it? Understanding these three tips about the fifth chakra will enable you to unlock the power within this energy center a common place that we leak out our precious energy supply without knowing it.

Speaking Your Truth
The fifth chakra is the energy center of willpower and your own voice. Learning to speak your mind and get things out of your system through your "voice" is as vital to your health and happiness as exercising your muscles. Voicing your opinions or criticism isn't the only way to speak your mind. It's also about speaking up for yourself when your personal boundaries are crossed. It's being able to say no when you are too tired and need to take care of yourself. When you sabotage these truths, you sabotage your health in the form of sore throats and grinding of the teeth.

The Powerhouse of Introspection
Learning to discern what you truly feel and discovering the limiting beliefs of self worth. While it is important to learn to speak up for yourself, you also need to use this chakra to speak truthfully to yourself about your true nature. This introspective journey is one of self-knowledge and personal authority. Keeping your word is as important an act as any physical action that can be taken. Self-discovery is also the journey of how well you keep your word with others but also with yourself.

Center of Choice
From your word and desires, the power of choice is born. The fifth chakra reigns over this cornerstone of personal growth. Learning to exercise your power of choice comes through introspection of your own desires and wishes along with your ability to vocalize and share those truths with the world. By analyzing what you want to do with your life, expressing that desire and your ability to keep your word to yourself through the words you use and the commitments you honor, you build your fifth chakra energy.

When you don't speak your own truth, when you betray someone by not keeping your word, and when you don't take the time to reflect on the 'why' behind the words you actually pronounce, you lose your energy through the fifth chakra. When you are looking for why you feel tired, ask yourself if you are keeping your word to yourself, speaking your own truth or if you've ever given it any thought.

What Reiki Is and Isn't

Reiki (pronounced Ray Key), is a combination of two Japanese words rei and ki. Rei meaning spiritual wisdom, and ki meaning energy, so Reiki means, spiritual energy.

Because Reiki is available to everybody, and anyone at any age or level of health, it may be worth looking into if you think you could use a little relaxation. In a nutshell, Reiki offers you a way to release stress or boost your energy, or both if that's what you need.

Reiki is natural, because you do not need any special equipment or tools. It's relaxing and balancing because it can help you to feel the blissful,as well as, create a sense of balance inside your body.

Now that you know what Reiki is, here is what it is not:

Reiki is not a massage, because it does not require the practitioner to place her hands firmly on your body, as a massage would. It is also not religious, because anyone from any denomination or none (if you do not practice any religion), can benefit from Reiki.

Even though Reiki is not religious, it is however, spiritual. Let me explain. Spirituality is the belief in your connection with the divine, whether you refer to it as a higher power or God. And religion gives you a way to grow and develop spiritually by giving you a place of worship and texts, such as the Bible, to read and use as a guide to support your spiritual growth.

Keep in mind that, you can have a spiritual connection and not belong to a religion, just as you can also be part of a religion and not have any spiritual bond or connection.

Reiki provides a way for spiritual growth no matter what is (or is not) your religious background. After seeing the techniques used in your own Reiki healing session, you may find that Reiki is certainly applicable for you. You may be able to experience the healing energy coming from God or another higher power working through the practitioner, or you may choose to use prayer or meditation to connect to God or the higher power of your own beliefs.

If you're seeking for a way to grow spiritually, a Reiki session might be worth trying. Because it is a good way to help you to evolve as a person. It's also a great way for you to develop your consciousness.

And if you decide to go to a Reiki session, remember to keep an open mind. Because Reiki is a system of energy healing, you do not need to understand how the energy in the body works to benefit from it, but it helps to know the process for the way that Reiki works.

So, now that you have a taste of what Reiki is, maybe you can feel a little better about the knowing what it is, and you can decide if this is something you want to do to improve quality of your body and mind.

All It Takes Is Faith (How to Change Your Karma)

It was back in 1986, I made a decision that changed my karma for life.

I was living in suburbs of Detroit working, studying and teaching a group ex-military men Qi Gong. Once a week I had my own a TV show on health, exercise and meditation, this was long before Dr. Oz or any other Health Guru's.

Everything was going well and we were planning to expand our local shows to a national network. Then it happened. It was around Late October or early November when I received an unexpected call from my Guru. He told me that he had an assignment for me that would completely change my karma. This type of opportunity doesn't show up unless the Student is ready.

He asked me one question. "DO YOU WANT?" Questions were going through my head at lighting speed. What? How? Where? Before I knew it I was living in Caracas, Venezuela.

My Job Title- The Senior Instructor of the "Grace Essence Fellowship Ashram." I was living in a Spiritual Community, teaching Taoism, Tibetan Buddhism, Western Alchemy and alternative health to a large group of international students. What a change it made in my entire life, the Master was right. It totally change my karma and it just took faith.

Teachings come to us all the time, But it is up to us to learn the lessons.

Of course part of me freaked out. I didn't speak a word of Spanish and I had no idea how I was going to make a living in South America. I just had to have faith that this was the right choice. When you made up your mind to begin on a path to grow and learn, everything in the universe will change to support you.

Teachers show up, money is no problem and the universe will support you 100% It just takes Faith and making the first step. As your faith is strengthened you will find that there is no longer the need to have a sense of control, that things will flow as they will, and that you will flow with them, to your great delight and benefit.

I knew in my heart that the teachings and the learning experience would be well worth making the decision to move forward. There are times in our lives that we have to make a quick decision and stick with it. That decision can change your karma forever.

It can pull you out of a rut, end old useless patterns, re-make your life and change your Karmic address in a matter of seconds. I ended up living in Venezuela for 3 years, teaching classes and workshops on Tibetan Buddhism, Taoist meditation, and Qi Gong for health and longevity.

All it takes is the faith to move forward. When an opportunity comes along in your life you can be proactive or a procrastinator. Isn't it time you stop postponing your karmic growth?

Dr. Wu Dhi has been practicing and teaching an integration of Ancient Eastern and Modern Western healing practices for the greater portion of his professional career, including qigong exercises, qi gong healing, acupuncture, natural health, pain relief and holistic healing.

Shamanic Healing And How It Works

Psychology and modern psychiatry admit the existence of a defense mechanism of the psyche when it is in great pain. The traditional perspective on the phenomenon is that of losing the soul. Losing part of the soul is linked by the shaman practitioners to many affective psychoses.

We have all gone through some rough times in our life, when we felt as if we lost parts of ourselves. Temporary loss (of longer or shorter periods of time, sometimes, indefinite periods of time) of some parts of our soul occurs every time we experience a trauma. The death of someone dear to us, breaking up with your lover, emotional or sexual abuse, accidents, illnesses, surgery, have a major impact on our soul. The phenomenon is mainly due to some sort of soul defense which allows parts of it to "fly away", somewhere else, so that the person is not overwhelmed by the terrifying experience.

If we were to use a holographic pattern of the soul, we might say that every time a part of energy hologram called "soul" fades away, the remaining part still have the main properties of the original, but it is pale, missing light and energy. For many hundreds of years now, the shamans have been able to identify the diagnosis, as well as healing these soul losses.

The classic procedure is the one when the shaman practitioner's soul, together with his spiritual helpers and guides, travel to a non-ordinary reality, identify the "fugitives" and convince them through specific means to come back home. Therefore, this is an operation that somebody carries out for someone else's benefit. Restoring the soul is a relatively fast process in terms of treatment session, but its results can be noticed after a longer period of time.

A very important task is the one of integrating the restored parts into that person's life. The individual must allow and come to terms with the changes in his/ her life, so that the recovered soul parts play their role in that person's life. They must feel useful and welcomed; otherwise there is a high risk for them to run away again. Luckily, this wonderful healing practice is also available nowadays.

Why Is There a Resveratrol Anti-Aging Debate and What Future Does It Have?

In the last few months a real debate has developed over the ability of resveratrol to extend human life span and solve medical problems in using resveratrol in treating human health problems. There are no simple answers to the questions arising from the debate. Major pharmaceutical companies which had made large investments in researching resveratrol have pulled out of their research and canceled major projects. Supposedly, they are redirecting their efforts into other areas they believe will give them better returns on their investments. Then on the other hand, we have a number of smaller companies in the area of alternative medicine that are investing in long-term clinical research projects, and this includes a European nation that has stepped up and is supporting this research. The big question, what is going on? Some have said that because the drug companies have dropped out of their research programs, resveratrol has no real future. But then the small alternative companies are making big investments and gaining support from a Scandinavian government. This could solve one of the big problems facing alternative medicine. The new players in research will be conducting clinical trials and publishing their research results. This could give them very strong growth potential if their research is successful.

I believe it is very difficult to know exactly what is happening if we do not take the events of the past few months and go over them in detail. So, I want to start with David Sinclair. His paper in 2003 was received with headlines announcing his discovery that resveratrol mimics the effects of caloric restriction, (CR) increasing the life span in an assortment of organisms.

David Sinclair is the prime pioneer in this research. Currently, he is a professor of pathology at Harvard Medical School; his research has been continuous for a number of years before 2003. He has commented that CR is a very perplexing occurrence. When the caloric intake of a large group of organisms, from worms to flies to primates, they should have been encumbered from the lack of nutritional intake in their diet. Instead, their lifespan was made longer. Research has shown that CR is effective in humans. It is clear that the effects of CR could be a huge benefit to health. Unfortunately, there are not that many organisms, especially humans, that respond to the idea of cutting calories by 30 to 40 % for an indefinite period of time.

There has been a great deal of work directed at understanding the mechanisms of longevity and CR. It is hoped that one day in the future drugs can be produced capable of triggering the same effect as CR improving human life span and health.

Aging happens with all organisms and there is no simple or obvious explanation of why it occurs. There was a time when the experts in medicine would have answered the question by saying aging was controlled by genes responsible for controlling senescence; many times they are referred to as the aging genes. This presents some problems in understanding how the genes would select aging genes, because when a person ages past the reproductive period there is no further adaptation.

How can the calorie restriction occurrence be explained? In the beginning, it was thought to be acted in a passive manner; for example, slowing the metabolic rate because of a lack of energy. This would have produced less toxic metabolic by-products. Research found that just the opposite happened with many organisms involved with CR. They displayed an increased metabolic rate and so this initial concept was abandoned.

A new concept was presented claiming CR acted to delay development of the organism; this allowed action to slow aging. Research found CR is just as effective when the organism is young as it is when older. This brought attention to the fact CR acts as it is independent of development mechanisms.

Sinclair's research posed the concept it is an active aging mechanism. His research team presented the concept CR operates as a form of biological stressor, which is acting to switch on the system's longevity genes to boost the body's natural defenses. This introduces the idea that a natural survival mechanism provides the organism the ability to survive when times are very bad.

Sinclair's biggest accomplishments came when he discovered a number of molecules which boosted the activity of Sir2 family of genes, the sirtuins. Research on the Sir2 family has shown they are an ancient group of survival genes which have evolved to keep organisms healthy and alive during periods of hardship. Sir2 genes are brought into action when the diet is restricted because of lack of nutrition. Today, the object of research is to duplicate the sirtuin genes so they are accurate copies of natural sirtuins to protect against disease and allow the body to avoid the bodily stresses of disease.

It is believed resveratrol is a sirtuin-stimulating molecule, but there is no hard scientific evidence to support this concept. I would say that David Sinclair's major objective is finding the data to support or deny this concept.

Chiropractic Can Help With Migraines

Migraines can be very painful at times. Chiropractic treatment is a safe and natural way of getting relief from the pain and avoiding medications at the same time. Prescribed medicines can help you for some time but they cannot provide you long term relief. Therefore, many people are turning towards chiropractic treatment to get relief from the pain.

Migraine headaches are considered to be idiopathic. This means that despite of the many medical advances, the reason for these headaches is not clearly known. There are few ideas that can explain migraines. They involve a serotonin deficiency in migraineurs, arterial swelling in the cranium and genetics malformations.

The subluxations in the muscle tissue at the skull base and the base of the neck cause or at least contribute to cause the formation of migraine. The tense locations in the muscle tissue connecting the bones of the upper spinal column are known as subluxations. When looking on x-ray, the bones seem to be located at the right place and therefore many doctors miss the pressure that is present in the muscular tissues. Chiropractic treatment provides manipulation to the backbone so that these subluxations can get loosened up.

Combined chiropractic and straight chiropractic are two kinds of care that chiropractor give to migraine sufferers. Manipulation from the spinal subluxations and the backbone come under straight chiropractic. When standard manipulation is combined with complimentary methods, it is known as blended chiropractic care. The aim of combined chiropractic is to reduce the stress and strain on the neck.

Researchers compared medicines for migraine and chronic stress complications and chiropractic treatment. Few patients were given medications and others were given chiropractic treatment. The reports showed a reduction of fifty percent in chiropractic care patients and forty percent for that of medications patients. After following up for four weeks, it was seen that only the patients on chiropractic care showed continuous recovery. Chiropractic treatment provides long term solution to the problem of migraine. If this condition is left ignored, it can result in disarming and very sharp pain.

If you suffer from the problem of migraine headaches, you should consult a chiropractor soon. They help the body to heal on its own and do not result in any kind of side effects. It is a very effective way of dealing with this problem. Do not neglect this problem considering it like just another headache because it can cause a lot of pain.

6 Ways to Prepare for a Week of Intense Training

You have just found out that you will be taking part in an Intense training camp for 5 days straight. Maybe a job requirement or the desire to get in shape. Bootcamp or a basketball camp, maybe a week of brutal Russian martial arts training- who knows? Bottom line, you've made up your mind: it is going to be tough.

On top of that, you only have 3 days to prepare, during which you have to work, make meals, look after the kids, and run a couple of last minute errands. All in all you have very little time to optimize your systems for what is to come.

The following 6 tips will hopefully take the edge off and give you a solid foundation for an intense week of training.

Hydrate your system: Proper hydration takes time. Start drinking a few days prior to your event. Avoid drinking large quantities at a time. Rather, sip little amounts throughout the day, all day. You want to make sure you do not deplete your body of minerals and vitamins by over drinking and therefore over-eliminating.

Stay away from energy drinks, carbonation, fructosy-glucosy drinks, coffee, tea and alcohol. Stick to water.

Regulate your eating and diet: Make sure you eat well. Keep it simple; salads, raw fish, fresh greens and vegetables. A good dose of fruits and nuts to supplement your main diet, be it vegetarian or not. Make sure you do not eat late or before sleeping.

Frankly, this is how our diet and eating habits should be all the time. Giving extra attention to your diet will go far in terms of sustenance and nutrition, but also as a psychological pillar.

Firstly, it will mean that you are slowing down your day-to-day pace, which is very good for your nervous system, but also you will feel more "wholesome" knowing that you care, feed, and look after yourself in a healthy manner.

Push ups, squats and sit ups: The trinity of body maintenance, I highly recommend the following regimen twice a day, everyday.

3 minutes of push ups, 2 minutes of squats, 1 minute of sit ups.

You can take breaks as needed, but try to accomplish as many per set, without sacrificing good form (in push ups it means planking your body and going as low as possible without touching the ground, and coming up to a position where arms are straight. In squats, keep your back straight, and heels to the ground. In sit-ups make sure your chest does not slouch inward, and your head does not tilt forward or backward).

Mimic, imitate and practice: Unless you have little idea of what will be expected of you, take the time to practice moves that will be required of you.

If it is basketball, you know that you will be required to do a lot of stop and go, and lot of jumping. If wrestling, you can practice transitions from standing to lying down, or may want to lie on the ground with a bit of weight on your chest.

Take the time to exaggerate each move, make sure you breath, and practice slowly, especially if new and unfamiliar with the discipline.

Stretch: Not everybody is flexible or "free" in their movement the same way. In order to avoid injury, I would like to offer an alternative to what we commonly understand as a stretching. Coupled with proper breathing this is the safest manner to get rid of tension without actually risking a tear in muscle or connective tissue.

Twice or three times a day spend about 1 minute stretching like you would when you wake up in the morning. Try it in different positions and try to slowly engage as many parts of your body. Make sure you breath.

Rest well: Quintessential to surviving hardcore training, proper rest, prior, during and after an Intensive will give you the necessary sharpness to better perform, follow directions, learn and process information and data. You will also heal better and feel better.

Rest does not necessary mean sleep. It can be considered as a space where the mind and body can forget and unplug from stress and anxiety causing conditions. However, sleep is the best way to rest and recuperate.

The above tips are for the average person who may or may not have a basic level of fitness, however everybody can benefit from them. Enjoy!

Always seek the advice of a physician prior to starting any training regimen.

Holistic Medicine - What Is It?

If you asked ten people what their definition of holistic medicine was, there is a good likelihood that you would receive almost as many answers as people you asked! Holistic medicine encompasses an entire realm of various forms of preventative measures and healing techniques that focus on the mind, body and spirit as cooperative parts of the system we call "life."

Holistic Medicine as a System of Care

At heart, and when practiced with best intent, holistic medicine is a complete system of health care that is based on complete cooperation with everyone involved - from patients, to doctors, to therapists and helpers of every level. The goal of this type of system is not to make more money for corporations that manufacture pharmaceuticals, nor is it to make insurance companies more attractive to investors.

Instead, a holistic health system of care fosters an environment of compassion and wholeness. In addition, traditional and modern medical practices come together to create a system intended to create optimal health, rather than simply treat illness.

While holistic medicine was pooh-poohed for a time, it is quickly becoming a more popular system of care than those systems that are based solely on modern medicine - and that's a great thing for everyone!

A Whole-Person Emphasis

When we talk about holistic medicine from the standpoint of a patient, and what kind of treatment options might be introduced, we see that holistic medicine takes the whole person into consideration - not just the part or parts being treated for a specific illness. Physical condition, emotional well being, social values, nutrition and lifestyle, and even spirituality are taken into consideration. The goal is balance and complete well-being, rather than a quick fix or a specific cure.

Accepted Medical Methods

Once again, if you ask ten people what kind of methods are acceptable to holistic medical practitioners, you are likely to get ten different answers! Here are some of the most commonly used terms for popularly accepted methods.
Alternative Medicine - The nickname "Alternative Medicine" often refers to lesser know or less invasive techniques. These include Medical Herbalism and Acupuncture, as well as Homeopathy and Reiki. Today, these time honored systems are becoming more popular, and some are even offered at medical centers that once focused on conventional methods of care.Natural Healing - Mind body spirit healing focuses on non-invasive techniques that rely primarily on the body's ability to heal itself. Many naturopaths combine natural healing with other methods for a whole body approach.Complementary Medicine - Many conventional practitioners refer to homeopathic methods and various holistic practices as "complementary medicine" intended to supplement conventional methods.

Should You Use Holistic Medicine?

Again, the answer to this question depends largely upon who you ask, and how severe an illness you have. Most modern medical practitioners agree that a holistic approach can be extremely helpful, especially for people who really believe that less invasive methods really do work.

When you stop to think about the fact that many so called "Alternative" methods have been used successfully for centuries, and that societies that practice less invasive methods and work toward balance as a rule, rather than simply waiting for an illness to strike and then combating it, tend to have healthier, longer-lived populations, then the concept of holistic medicine really starts to make sense.

Modern Medicine: Healing or Stealing?

A story of commitment:

A long time ago there lived twin brothers, Cosmas and Damian, both of whom were doctors. Trained in Syria they practiced as physicians in the seaport Aegea. Through their work, they attained a great reputation for healing. At some point, though it is unclear how or why, each had a mystical awakening and came to a simultaneous and mutual decision that eventually led them to be known as Cosmas the Moneyless and Damian the Silverless. They were venerated as the "anargyroi," the unmercenary physicians, because they decided to stop charging for their services and to heal purely out of love for God.

They had determined that their abilities as healers were gifts and that they would therefore give them freely and trust that God would provide them with what they needed in order to continue healing the infirm. They traveled throughout Asia Minor and never starved or lacked for anything, although they were brutally tortured and beheaded by order of Lysias for not recanting their beliefs.

That was in the third century.

Now, let me tell you a true story from the 21st century, a more modern counterpoint t in a minor key:

Someone I know who was injured on the job was sent by the Worker's Compensation insurance underwriter to one of their approved rehabilitation physicians. It was a big office, with a full staff, colorful walls, a physical therapy program, a host of diagnostic machines and one doctor.

The patient was examined. The exam, which involved a simple "look-see," an x-ray and a few "walk, sit, bend and stand" commands, at first revealed nothing. Drugs were strongly encouraged, particularly Vicodin, which is a known hazard on a multitude of levels (tendency for addiction, narcotic bowel syndrome, irritability and mood disturbance, motor function disturbance and so on and so forth). They were all refused with the exception of ibuprofen.

Finally, after two months of increasing and relentless pain, the insurance company capitulated and allowed an MRI, which found several bulging discs including an impinged S1. The patient was exhausted, but relieved to know he wasn't crazy. At least the pain had a real etiology. They did other neurologic exams and found moderate to severe neuropathy along one leg, hip and buttock.

Although they continued to press the patient to take more drugs, they allowed physical rehab which entailed deep tissue release. After two months, the patient saw some signs of improvement. So what did they do?

They discontinued treatment, declared the patient at MMI ("maximum medical improvement") and sent him on his merry way with a prescription for whatever he wanted.

When the doctor told the patient that the physical therapy was being withdrawn, the patient sat stunned for a moment. "But that was the only thing that worked," he said. "How can you take that away from me?"

"Yeah," the doctor said, "but it's been too long now and we have to make a determination for the insurance company."

"But you're a doctor!" the patient leaned forward, raising his voice.

"I know. But that's the system," was all the doctor had to say and turned back to his very fashionable computer note pad.

Before the patient left, he looked back and pointed his finger, "No. You're the system!"

The doctor went on to earn a lot of money and live very comfortably. So far he has not been beheaded.

Choices on Becoming A Healer

Why do people go into medicine? Or become social workers? Or psychologists? Or naturopaths and homeopaths? Why go through years of training and gruesome, unpaid clinical internships? Why not go into economics or weapons manufacturing or lobbying?

I know why my father did. He walked back and forth to the NYU medical school uptown campus every day from the north Bronx because he loved medicine. He loved the science of it, the magic of it, the relief it brought to people who were suffering. Now 90 years old and no longer practicing, he still becomes giddy just talking about it, still goes to grand rounds, still reads the journals from front to back, even the ads.

In those early days when I was very little, he got up when there was an emergency, picked up that worn, alligator bag and headed out for a "house call" (imagine that!) at three in the morning. He got paid for his time -- nothing wrong with that. But he didn't worry about what some bureaucrat was going to say about whether it was "warranted" or not. He went because he was needed. Even if it was more hand-holding than anything else.

I am as certain as I can be of anything in this fallen world that my father did not go into medicine to get rich or famous. He didn't have dreams of being on that day's equivalent of Oprah or being hailed as the great new magic man by The New York Times. He never imagined what the insurance companies would do to medicine. He did his job and took care of his family. He worked hard, took jobs sometimes that he didn't like so much and helped people out. As it turned out, we were never poor and that was enough for us.

Now it's a different story. Although I know there are many young people who still have the heart and soul to join Doctors without Borders or head out with the Peace Corps or sign up for clinic jobs with poor, hurting, sick people in small, dusty towns along the southern edge of New Mexico, there are way more who are vying for the top spots in the lucrative specialties (cosmetic surgery, dermatology) that will get them Park Avenue salaries, status and something to really Twitter about.

It's not all their fault, I admit. Expectations about doctors have changed on our parts, too. They're being trained by pharmaceutical companies instead of independent physicians. And we've made the fatal error of setting them up as demi-gods and demanding that they do the impossible. So now (as opposed to when my father had his practice) when something bad happens, we sue them. It's the McDonald's coffee cup syndrome. We stick burning hot coffee between our legs as we drive and then haul everyone but our own poor judgment into court. We eat too much, sit too much and whine too much. Then when we get sick, we want it to go away fast so we can eat too much again. If my father had had a patient like that years ago, he wouldn't have given him a pill. He would've read him the riot act.

What's happened to us? What's happened to doctors?

The Ultimate Disconnect: Doctors as Participating Providers instead of Community Members

The other day a patient told a story of how she got her first kitten. It wasn't anything like what one might expect. As it turned out, her family doctor was over for dinner with his wife and he had found a kitten.

"Your doctor came over for dinner?" I asked, truly surprised.

"Yeah, he always did. He was like part of our family," she sat back with her memory like she was reading a favorite old book.

"He was your doctor and your parents's doctor?" I wondered stupidly.

"Yeah, why?"

The last time I heard about a doctor visiting a patient's house to celebrate a social occasion was the last time I watched "Little House on the Prairie."

In modern practice those boundary crossings are utterly verboten. I know of one social worker (who's really an administrator, not a therapist) who won't even acknowledge a patient in public unless the patient comes up to him first, and even then he's as circumspect as a mouse in a cat house. And I can't remember the last time I was alone with a doctor. In both exams and fully-clothed, open-door consultations, there is always a nurse or assistant present as a live witness to ward off the evil spirits of the legal system.

There are rules and regulations about these things now, privacy laws and confidentiality acts that can put a therapist or doctor in jail for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.

So, the caution is understandable. But it's also lamentable.

Because a while back I left the cloister and went to see a client walk to receive her master's degree. She invited me to do so and there was no doubt it meant the world to her. In my mind and heart it was the healing and loving thing to do. I could have said "no," that the regulations strictly interpreted limited our interaction to the office and that leaving those four walls could pollute the therapeutic relationship. But I didn't. I went. And we both wept as she got her degree.

To be fair, there are some good reasons for people being careful about leaving a traditional and "safe" setting. Many "healers" have taken terrible advantage of people by forcing unprofessional relationships on them with highly improper dynamics. And I don't just mean sexual ones. I mean ones in which the therapist is the needy one. And people like that sincerely do need lines drawn around them that read: "so far and no farther." But I suspect that we may have gone too far in our carefulness and become fearful. In so doing we may be losing something truly precious -- the healing relationship.

When I think of doctors as part of a community, I once again think of my father and what being a healer means.

It was winter when I was an infant and one of his patients had contracted a bad flu which took a turn for the worse one night. As the story goes, they called in the wee hours of the morning. Without hesitating, my father went to their apartment on Decatur Avenue in the Bronx, where he sat with Harry as his wife, Irene, paced until the fever broke. He sat there all night. Harry lived. Irene never stopped pacing, but she was eternally grateful and thought my father walked on water.

First they came to major family events -- birthdays, funerals and the like. But then they started coming over just to come over. He still took care of them medically. And they lived into their 90's, mostly hale and almost always happy.

It never occurred to anyone in my family -- immediate or extended -- that there was anything untoward or unethical about it. In fact, if that question had even been raised, they would have heard a resounding, "Are you crazy?" from all of us.

Doctors, therapists, priests, rabbis, pastors -- healers and helpers of all sorts -- used to be part of the community and a part of the lives of the people whom they served. They were respected and they were compensated for their time and their help, but they weren't expected to be rich. That was the province of robber barons, railroad men and mining companies. Doctors were expected to be like everyone else in the community. They were a part of it. They certainly weren't the emissaries of insurance companies and corporate boards.

Doctors didn't have to find different churches to attend because one of the congregants came to see them for a yeast infection. It was confidential, the relationship was sacred, yes. But there was other life to live, too. And people did.

In one of my talks on Verbal First Aid, I make a point of bringing up the stethoscope as one of the inventions that truly changed medicine and the art of healing. Because where once the physician had to lay his or her ear on the patient's chest to hear the heart beating, now there was over a foot of distance between them.

In our zealousness and fear, we have substituted machines for people, insurance forms and money for health and inflexible rules for sensible relationships. We have literally taken the heart out of healing.

Chiropractic Care Can Help With Scoliosis

An abnormal curve of spine that results in a S or C shape that comes out laterally and makes non-visible and visible defect to the person is known as scoliosis. This does not take place because of lack of care of certain actions that result in spine curvature. This is not even contagious. Chiropractic treatment can always be helpful in case of this condition. It is a natural treatment method and can provide long term solution for scoliosis.

Scoliosis is known as an idiopathic disease. This is because no one knows for sure the exact reason or its cause. It is a wrong notion that this is caused by being too athletic or carrying heavy things. This can affect people of any age but you can usually see it in between childhood and adolescence when the growth takes place and the curvature in the spine is easily visible.

Scoliosis can change the appearance of a person if there are uneven shoulders and the lump on the back of a person is visible. In case of double curvature where the spine bends twice, it is not easily seen. Using pilates, an exercise pattern is created along with thoughtful breathing and movement that can help make your body more flexible and efficient.

Other methods that can help are application of heating pads, massage, hydrotherapy and ice for temporary pain relief. Before you get into other treatment methods like surgery or braces, you should go for chiropractic treatment for scoliosis. This treatment method focuses on rehabilitative as well as manipulative treatment methods. It is said to be more effective than other methods to treat this condition.

This condition can fix itself for some people. So, you should not worry too much. But one thing to keep in mind is to not ignore it. Ignoring this condition can lead to serious consequences over time and hence you should go to your chiropractor if you see symptoms build up over time. Chiropractic provides you improved range of mobility by spinal manipulation. You can feel overall wellness once you take up this form of treatment. There are many advantages of chiropractic as it helps the body to heal on its own. Scoliosis can be easily treated with the help of this treatment method. You can expect long term results from chiropractic. If you are suffering from scoliosis and do not know what to do, contact your chiropractor soon.

Elements of Holistic Medicine Review

The more I live and the more I experience the more I understand what a wonderful creation we live in. Now I'm not going to get into creation, but I want to tell you what I have discovered about Nature and what it can provide us with in relation to healing.

Whether you find see this as new information or whether you have know about the elements of holistic medicine for some time, I hope you will find this review interesting and informative. Society today is really no different today than it has ever been in regards to people seeking well being. In different part of the world different approaches to wellness have varied over the years and from culture to culture, but maybe not as much as we might think. So let's take a look at 4 important elements of holistic medicine.

The four elements of holistic medicine are grouped under; Homeopathic, Herbal, Tissue salts, and Flower Essences. At one time or another you will have encountered these elements even if you were not aware of them such. If you research you may find as I did that modern medicine often uses the 4 elements of holistic medicine in the manufacture of biochemical products. You certainly will have seen them used in cosmetics and beauty treatments the world over.

Homeopathic Remedies by definition of purpose are said to treat the symptoms of a condition and stimulate the body to begin a natural healing process. It is easier to understand homeopathic remedies if we are aware of the 4 fundamental principles involved in this form of treatment;

Principle 1. Law of similars' or like cures like: 1796 That is the understanding that disease can be cured by a medicinal substance given in micro doses that produces symptoms similar to the actual disease. It was first stated by German physician Samuel Hahnemann in 1796. Wikipedia states the "law of similar" is taken on the word of Samuel Hahnemann and is considered an unproven assertion since it is not a true law of nature based on the scientific method.

Principle 2. Law of minimum dose:1801 Only that amount of medicine is administered which is sufficient to cure the disease not more than that, that means no overdosing, thus avoiding unwanted side effects.

Principle 3. Single remedy:1810 Individualization may require different medicine for different people even though they may be suffering the same disease. One remedy at a time is based on total symptoms including physical, mental and emotional aspects.

Principle 4. Hering law of direction of cure:1845 Cure progresses from above downwards, from within outwards, from most important organ to less important one, proceeding in reverse order of the original symptoms occurring.

In homeopathic treatment as in traditional medicine it is understood that it may take a combination of treatments methods to obtain a full solution to wellness. Before proceeding with treatments of any kind I really recommend you do your research. Your heath is your business; know what you need to know before buying herbs.

Creditable companies that use sound practices in the manufacture of homeopathic products are available. Products can be manufactured in FDA and GMP registered pharmaceutical facilities under the supervision of qualified homeopaths and responsible pharmacists. Individual ingredients are often listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS).

Like conventional medicine, homeopathy uses a wide variety of ingredients of herbal, mineral, or animal origin. As is the case with conventional medicine, some ingredients may be toxic in large amounts. However, when unique and specialized manufacturing methods are used in homeopathy; no molecular traces of the original raw ingredients are left in the final product.

Until next time, keep well!

The Power of Intent

Self-Reiki is the basics of Reiki. As soon as you learn Reiki Sho-den (Level I) your teacher will tell you to 'practice' as much as you can and minimum twice a day. Self-Reiki is the opening gate to understand how the energies work. To re-align your whole body and auric body to new vibrations. Self-reiki is an act of kindness to your self. Once you progress on the Reiki path, then you will be able to put more labels on the energies and describe how your intuition is sharpening. To be kind to oneself is essential in life and during 'crazy' times like those around now, the kindred you are the better and the more the 'let go' of ego will help you fly higher and higher.

I am beyond words, beyond mind, beyond universal doubt and fear.
I choose to be love.
I choose to be kind to myself.
Kindness is life force energy.
I give myself to life.
Reiki is kind to me.

I will now share with you an affirmation that lived with me since I started Reiki, in 1999 and that serves purposes of releasing and let go. Healing at deep level.

"I forgive and release absolutely anyone and anything that may accept or require forgive and release, including myself, in body, mind and spirit, in all life, work and surroundings, in all times, space and dimensions, I am free, you are free, I release you in love and fill the gaps with unconditional love."

This is a deep affirmation that coupled with self-Reiki and absent healing create waves of new vibrations all around the here and now and send you in a completely new light. Try it now. It is my gift for you today.

A Reiki Master does not diagnose a disease, nor does he or she give prescriptions. However through cautious questions and answers an adequate line of action could be to suggest a few good suggestions to keep the balance and/or enhance the healing process taking place through the treatment sessions received.

By working with the natural electromagnetic field of the body it is possible to work towards enhancing many aspects of life and here are some examples:

? Vibrant Health
? Fulfilling Relationships
? Inner Peace & Greater Happiness
? Overcoming Past Trauma
? De-rooting addiction such as smoke and alcohol
? Aligning yourself with the Best Job for you
? Finding and Manifesting Your Bliss

Intention is essential in healing and I won't get tired of repeating it. Intention is a matching energy with higher powers. You can imagine high energies flying along in the sky looking for healing and catching in up with you. However if you sit and relax and wait for healing to occur just like that, then it may take longer than necessary and even weaken you up. So relax, get your tool box in motion and keep Reiki on the way.

Reiki is timeless, and Karuna Reiki? associated with Usui Reiki is just the perfect combination for deep, deep healing to occur.

6 Tips to Turn Negative Into Positive

1) Notice your speech patterns and change them when necessary.Do you ever say things like, "I'm not good enough," "I can't afford it," "I'm so fat," "There are no good men/women out there for me," etc. All of these are examples of very limited thinking. When you hear that negative self-talk creeping into your thoughts, acknowledge it briefly, then let it go by replacing it with a new positive affirmation. Examples: "I am enough," "Money flows to me; I always have enough to pay my bills and much more," "I love my healthy, fit body," "I am worthy of and attract a healthy relationship." Always state them in the present-tense positive: "I am healthy" rather than "I am not fat."

Even if you are 30 pounds overweight and your conscious mind isn't quite buying it, the subconscious mind, which sees in pictures, will take it without questioning and your behaviors always align themselves with that subconscious belief.

It actually becomes fun, coming up with more and more positive affirmations to say to yourself. Start your own affirmation notebook.

2) Be willing to let go of what is no longer serving you, even if (especially if) it will take you out of your comfort zone. Believe that it is safe to release the need to keep any distorted patterns.

3) Own your power and with it start creating the life you really want. If you catch yourself reverting back to any negative thought habits, ask yourself "If I could have anything I want in this situation, what would that look like?" Feel it, smell it, taste it, touch it. The more senses you engage, the easier it becomes to manifest that into a reality.

4) Gain knowledge by reading some great books on this subject. There are now literally hundreds of books on the Law of Attraction. A few of my favorites are: You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, The Power of Intention by Wayne Dyer, The Attractor Factor by Joe Vitale, and The Jack Rabbit Factor by Leslie Householder. If you go to any online bookstore and search for Law of Attraction, you'll find a huge list of books to choose from.

5) Meditation and exercises such as Tai Chi and Yoga help to get you into a centered state, where you have the clarity to identify negative patterns so that you can let them go.

6) Get some energy therapy. With energy healing, we are able to bypass the conscious mind's defense mechanisms that keep deeper beliefs and thoughts hidden away. The mind does this so we are able to function seemingly adequately on a daily basis. With energy therapy, we are able to release the limiting attitudes and beliefs, and replace them with supporting attitudes and beliefs.

By clearing deeper beliefs from the subconscious on an energy cell level, we are getting to the root of the problem, at the same time plugging in corresponding positive affirmations. This raises the vibration of the thoughts we are sending out. With my clients, once these affirmations are plugged into their subconscious mind, they experience improved circumstances and increased feelings of self-worth immediately.

Remember, whatever you concentrate on increases, or as I like to say, "What you think about, you bring about / What you fear will appear." Every thought we think is creating our future. What seeds of thought are you sowing?

Help With Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow is the inflammation of the outer part of the elbow. It is called lateral epicondylitis in medical terminology. The condition and the pain of tennis elbow results from the inflammation of the tendon and the outer layer where the tendon from the back of the forearm connects with the bone of the upper arm. The muscles that straighten the wrist are connected to the bone by the tendon. Any tension in that muscle results in pain like a tennis backhand.

Other activities are typing, using a screwdriver, writing or lifting objects with the palm turned down. The pain increases gradually with no swelling that can be seen. You can see the pain and stiffness in the elbow after a long time period.

You should know the symptoms properly to know you have tennis elbow. You should try to lift a book with your palm facing towards the floor. You probably have this condition if there is pain on the outer part of the elbow when you are lifting the book. Therefore, tennis elbow is not a big problem with the elbow joint but with a lot of use of the muscles that are joined to the elbow. These are the same muscles that helps is straightening or extending the wrist.

If there is a lot of tension in the muscle group, it can result in a decrease in the joint space in the elbow and joint inflammation. With time, it can result in typical pain from the epincondylitis and also in the elbow joint too. Usually, people go for lifestyle change treatment along with anti-inflammatory medicines and medicines for relaxing muscles. The best and safest way to treat tennis elbow is to go for chiropractic treatment. It is a natural form of treatment that can provide relief from pain and can provide your body overall wellness.

Chiropractic methods that work good with this condition are soft tissue therapies like Graston, active release technique and cross fibber friction massage. Other methods that can be helpful are chiropractic adjustment of the lateral elbow that includes the radial humeral joint and proximal radial ulnar joint. The focus of chiropractic manipulation is to separate the joint surfaces of the elbow for some time by about one to three millimeters. This helps in easing the pain and takes the pressure off the joint. Manipulation of the wrist can also prove to be helpful.

Gratitude To Whom Encounters Reiki

Do you actually know that a Karuna Reiki? Master is already an Usui Reiki Master? Do you also know that Karuna Reiki? is not a different type of Reiki but simply a further exploration of Reiki energies tracing back to the origins of Reiki? Karuna Reiki? was born out of the research of Usui Reiki Masters who explored the origins of Reiki and channeled energies with respective symbols. So being a Karuna Reiki? Master is equivalent to a specialisation within the Reiki system and is not a parallel path. Any Usui Reiki Masters may one day feel the need to explore further to experience further to heal further to offer further and this is what Karuna Reiki? Masters have felt and engaged in.

To make a long story very simple one has to be a Master to register for a class of Karuna Reiki?. One has to know the four symbols of the third level and the two symbols of the fourth level. They have to know how to attune others and having practiced as Master Teacher for at least one year. When Karuna Reiki? enters your home some fabulous boost in energy levels are guaranteed to come your way!. There are no exceptions about that!

Being a Reiki Master is not an honorific title. It is actually not a title but a step on a path. The Rei Ki path in this particular case. Well yes, being a Rei Ki Master means that the person is a seeker, a learning healer, an "insighter", and also a compassionate heart. It means the person has reached a certain level of comprehension about certain matters, and also has made a commitment to search further for answers. I am not sure if every one sees it this way. This is the way my fellow friends I feel to say about being a Reiki Master. Moreover, teaching Rei Ki is a fabulous experience. Personally I never thought I would one day teach Rei Ki although I did instantly nurtured admiration for the Rei Ki Master who initiated me to Rei Ki back in 1999., He had a constant smile on his face and I used to talk about him as though he was a Zen Master. He had this particular skill of always appearing when you are about to expect him.

As I now teach Reiki and loving it, I am thankful to all the students who attended my classes. Every time I have taught Reikii I felt some much energy passing through my body that it made me fly. Moreover every time students came to me for advice I was so humbled to give it with great passion. I simply love Reiki and my students.

Restrictions After Hernia Surgery - 5 Common Restrictions

Going through the pain and inconvenience of a hernia is something that you may only have to experience once in your lifetime - if ever. The good news is that, if you do have a hernia and you receive the proper medical attention, your chances of a recurrence should be very low.

Surgery is by far the most common and trusted method that most physicians recommend for the correction of a hernia. After all, a hernia is a protrusion or "pushing through" of internal body tissue and/or organs (think: intestines) through weak places in the muscle wall. A hernia can come about due to genetic causes or be the result of undue strain placed on the localized area of the body, such as during strenuous lifting, childbirth, or an accident.

Hernia surgery involves your doctor placing a synthetic mesh over the affected area after pushing the protruding tissues back into the body. Once the surgical incisions have healed in a few weeks, the affected muscle should regain its previous strength. As long as proper healing has occurred, the newly-healed muscle wall - along with the synthetic mesh - should be more than strong enough to keep everything properly in place.

If you have undergone hernia surgery or plan to soon, you may have heard about restrictions after hernia surgery. Here are 5 common restrictions after hernia surgery:

1. Avoid lifting anything that weighs over 10 lbs. (or about 4.5 kg):

For the first 2 weeks or so after surgery, you should avoid lifting anything that weights over 10 lbs. (about 4.5 kg). This includes young children! If your home or work life require that you lift items that weigh more than this, be sure to enlist the assistance of a helpful friend, family member, or hired nurse to get you through those first few weeks.

2. Do not hold objects above your head:

You will want to avoid any type of strenuous holding or lifting of items of any weight above your head. Reason: in that position, your abdomen will likely be stretched in ways that could put undue pressure on the affected area of your body. The risk is that you could re-open your incisions or re-injure the herniated part of your body.

3. Avoid running or jogging:

Your healing hernia will be very sensitive to any type of jarring motion, such as that which comes with running or jogging. Avoid this type of jarring physical activity for at least 2-3 weeks - maybe longer.

4. Avoid doing sit-ups:

Immediately following your surgery, just trying to sit up in bed might be a very painful experience for you. It goes without saying, then, that sit-ups should be out of the question.

5. Do not stay in bed all day:

Despite all of these cautionary notes about avoiding any type of strenuous or jarring activities, it is important also that you do not just stay in bed or on the couch all day. Rather, once a day or two have passed after your surgery, make it a point to get up every day and take a little walk around your house. After a week or so, you should start venturing outside. Surprisingly, avoiding this type of light exercise could actually keep your body from healing properly after surgery.

In order to avoid recurrence of your hernia and to promote healing, keep these restrictions in mind for after your hernia surgery.

Mimosa Root Miracles

Most people think that certain kinds of Mimosa Root such as MHRB (Mimosa Hostilis) is highly visionary due to its abundant levels of 1.0-2.0% DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) but this assumption is not shared with local curanderos (healers) in the region who have used mimosa root for healing for generations.

They believe it is the consciousness of the mimosa tree (which is a far more highly evolved conscious entity than the individual human) which diagnoses and treats spiritual disease through direct perception. According to their healing philosophy, the majority of the human race suffers from the spiritual disease of relying on the limited vision of the eyes for an accurate interpretation of reality. They believe the spirit of the mimosa plant teaches us to see through the heart which gives us the accurate vision of spiritual sight and perception.

When practiced regularly this will inspire one to live a conscious life of balance and harmony with all other forms of life. This spiritual discipline ultimately leads an individual to a state of being free of disease, pain and suffering. Through this transpersonal perception of reality one comes to understand that the only "dis-ease" an individual can suffer from is the physical illusion that they are separate from nature and others.

Scientists from the local laboratories agree that most of the species of Mexican mimosa root do not contain DMT or any other known psychoactive or hallucinogenic substances, yet they magically produce some of the most profound shifts in consciousness, personal insights and realizations (which are experienced in one's nightly dreams) of all of the known plants used medicinally by shamans in the region.

Preparing Mimosa Root for shamanic journeying is a complete ritual which has several distinct stages including the harvesting and drying of the mimosa root, the cooking of the sacred brew and the actual healing ceremony. Mexican curanderos say the bark of the mimosa root provides direct contact with cosmic consciousness. They consider it to be a powerful shamanic ally because the spirit of the mimosa is known to bless humans with the gift of spiritual sight.

Shamans believe this is scientific proof that the spirit of the mimosa tree does the actual healing and not DMT. They do view Mimosa Hostilis as the master ally of the Mimosa species. In their view, MHRB is the gateway to the transpersonal or spiritual realms in which immediate transformational shifts in awareness and being can occur by personally experiencing being one with all of creation.
