Is Getting Rid of Cold Sores Possible?

If you mean is there a herpes cures on the market that will forever remove the virus from your body, then the answer is no. There is no drug or treatment at this time that cures herpes. There are things you can do to make your outbreaks less severe, and to possible reduce the number of times you get the fever blisters each year.

There are a lot of cold sores remedies that promise miraculous results. If you find one of them, and it works for you, then continue to use it. Not every product that says it gets rid of cold sores fast works for every person. That would be too simple, and life is just not simple.

A lot of people treat their cold sores with home remedies. Since there is no proven cure this method of treatment is as good as any the medical field has come up with. To tell the truth the home remedies are probably better than the store bought remedies.

Home remedies for things such as this focus on creating a condition inside your body that is undesirable for the virus to live in. If the host presents an undesirable place to stay then the virus cannot hang around. It high tails it, and gets out-of-town fast.

In order to provide your own immune system with the capabilities of fighting off this invader you must give your body the proper fuel it needs to function. Your diet must be healthy, and well balanced. When you start eating a poor diet, you start keeping your body from obtaining some of the vitamins, minerals, flavanoids, and antioxidants it needs to have the immune system warriors on constant alert. So remember to feed your body well.

Be certain that you keep your body hydrated, and that you get an adequate amount of rest. Alcoholic laced beverages deplete your system of fluids, sodas are full of sodium and they actually increase dehydration in your body. Your defense system cannot work if you are making them slowly die of thirst. You do not have to stop the other beverages you like. You do need to increase your daily water consumption though. Your body needs plain, ordinary, thirst quenching water to survive, and to fight like it is created to fight.

Rest is also a major factor in allowing your body to stop you from having an outbreak. When you do not get enough sleep at night, your body becomes run down, and your immune system becomes sluggish. It cannot stop the outbreak because you have depleted it of all the energy it needed to function, and then you did not give it the proper amount of time to recharge. You have made yourself vulnerable to an outbreak, and it is coming.

Try every treatment you have available to you in order to stop these outbreaks, but keeping your body prepared to resist the outbreak will be more beneficial than any drug, or treatment that you can apply externally.

Getting to the Core Issue With EFT: Anger and Rage

Why do some people habitually react with anger and rage to all kinds of situations? It could be something physical, like a brain injury or some other neurological problem. Most often, anger and rage is seen in people who have been violated, trapped, or stopped from being who they are or doing what theyneeded to do. They've been in situations where they don't see a choice or don't see a way out of a horrible or emotionally painful situation. Among many other things, this can include physical or sexual abuse or seeing others abused; experiencing a natural disaster, such as a tornado, earthquake or tsunami; or being kidnapped or held hostage. This kind of emotional pain often creates symptoms of PTSD.

It's Either Depression or Rage

It makes sense that, when we experience horrible things that we have no power to change or stop, we either despair and get depressed, or we get really angry - or both. These are all survival mechanisms. We need to do something with the feeling of utter helplessness so that we can survive it physically and emotionally.

PTSD

Living in a long-term helpless situation-such as children who are physically and sexually abused or who see one of their parents or siblings being harmed in this way-has long-term effects that stay in our bodies and nervous systems. That feeling of horror, powerlessness and helplessness is always there, either on the surface or underneath. That's also true of one-time events, such as the natural disasters or the kinds of horrible experiences I mentioned above. This is what's called PTSD, or Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. Whenever something happens that has even a small flavor of the original events, it "triggers," or evokes, the whole, huge awful feeling again. And the reaction to this can be anger or rage.

Rage is Survival, But It Costs Us

Although we can see that anger and rage originally served as a means of survival, if it keeps on coming up in a person, the cost is huge! It wrecks close relationships, it makes people lose their jobs, and it hurts! Each time someone gets triggered and goes through rage, they're traumatized all over again. The traumatic stress-all that fear, helplessness, trapped feeling-has again flooded the person. All that adrenaline floods the person again and again. This can lead to a number of stress diseases.

EFT Helps With PTSD Anger and Rage

I've had a lot of clients who have some level of anger where they're holding emotional pain from the past. EFT Tapping is usually very helpful in healing from PTSD and calming the body and nervous system, so that previously triggering experiences are more like distant pictures. The painful PTSD reaction is gone!

Getting Started With EFT

What has only 2 fingers, 9 spots, and can change your life forever? EFT!

Most people are very nervous to actually get started. Fortunately, we can even use EFT to address that nervousness. Say this statement aloud. "I am afraid to even get started." Rate the intensity or truth of this statement on a 0-10 scale with a 0 meaning that it is absolutely not true for you and 10 being very true for you. Give your first impression. I recommend that you actually write that number down.

Tap continuously on your karate chop point and repeat this statement aloud three times. "Even though I am afraid to even get started, I deeply and completely accept my feelings and myself." After you have done that, tap at each of the eight tapping points while repeating the statement "I am afraid to even get started."

Eyebrow - "I am afraid to even get started."

Side of Eye - "I am afraid to even get started."

Under the Eye - "I am afraid to even get started."

Nose - "I am afraid to even get started."

Chin - "I am afraid to even get started."

Collarbone - "I am afraid to even get started."

Under the Arm - "I am afraid to even get started."

Top of Head - "I am afraid to even get started."

Say the original statement aloud again, "I am afraid to even get started." Rate the intensity on your 0-10 scale and write down your response. Compare the results. Did the number go up? If so, continue tapping on the original statement. Did the number go down? If it only went down a little bit, feel free to repeat the process several times until your rating is below a 2 or 3.

As you tap, different questions or issues will come up in your mind. Write them down. It is generally useful to stick with your original statement until the intensity is very low before switching gears to another topic. Once the intensity feels lower, you are ready to move to the next tapping sequence.

Getting to the Core Issue: EFT for Emotional Effects of Accidents

You might think it's obvious what the core issue is when you're working on healing pain from an accident-it's the accident! However, for two reasons, it may not be all that obvious. One is that sometimes PTSD from accidents triggers PTSD from previous emotional trauma. Another is that, although the accident might indeed be the core issue, it's important to get really detailed and specific when working with the accident.

What Causes Accident PTSD

Almost anyone who goes through an accident or any high speed injury, there are a number of parts to it: there are sudden sights, sounds, body reactions, emotions, smells, etc. Most of them happen so fast that we can't assimilate them. Our reactions start but don't have a chance to complete. All of that stays in our nervous system and our body. That's what we know as PTSD-all these stuck, incomplete reactions and all this emotional pain and physical pain.

EFT With Accident PTSD

To heal this kind of PTSD with EFT Tapping (or with any method), it's important to divide the accident into emotional parts. If the intensity of our emotional pain around it is so high that we get really agitated or even spacy, dizzy or floaty thinking about it, we first need to do some EFT Tapping in general without even thinking about any of the details-to lower the intensity. After that, pick out the most intense parts, notice what emotion(s) are attached to each part, and tap on the emotions. For instance, if the sound of breaking glass brings up fear, specifically tap on that sound and the fear around it. Then go through each part of the accident that brings up a spike of intensity, always asking what about that part brings up the intensity and what emotion it brings up, and EFT Tapping on both.

Accidents Can Trigger Past Traumatic Stress

Sometimes, when I'm working with clients on emotional pain and/or physical pain after an accident, there's a certain amount of relief, but it doesn't go all the way. Often this is because their unconscious emotional/physical reactions during the accident triggered PTSD from a previous trauma. One client, for instance, felt he was going to die during an accident and he had the floaty, spacy feeling that can accompany that. This triggered a time in his life where he was very depressed and wanted to die. We had to work on the earlier time in order to completely heal the accident PTSD.

EFT Tapping for All Kinds of Emotional Pain Issues

EFT is very effective for healing emotional pain and often physical pain caused by accidents. I've had a number of clients whose PTSD symptoms are gone after three to six sessions. EFT is also very effective in alleviating pain due all kinds of stressful and traumatic experiences.

Tips for Getting the Best From EFT

1 Tune in to or associate with how you are feeling - tapping on the short circuit that fear or guilt causes in your energy system when you are actually feeling guilt or fear makes EFT extremely effective. If you need to, tap for the courage to be able to feel what you don't want to feel.

2 Tap on different aspects. An aspect is an important feature or part of an issue. For example, an aspect can be an emotion, a smell, a look on someone's face, anything at all. You will find as you tap, dissolving the emotional charge on all the different aspects will give you emotional freedom on an event or person.

3 Say the 'unsayable' - even if just to yourself - your body knows you feel this way and is manifesting the symptoms, what you deny, bury or suppress will show up in your body.

4 Clarify what your intention is before you begin tapping. For example, if you tap with the intention of helping stuck energy to move rather than tapping with the intention of wanting to get rid of it (be specific about what 'it' is), which is resistance in action, you will experience more shifts and relief.

5 Be as specific as you can. You will see results a lot sooner. For example, the belief 'I am not good enough' has evidence to support it. You can tap on the belief itself by rating its truth from 0 to 10, 0 being false and 10 being as true as it can be, and watch as that 'truth' collapses. Or you can tap on the specific events, the evidence, that hold the belief up. Both will work, but you will see results faster if you tap on the specific events, and as a result feel more encouraged with the EFT procedure.

6 Make a list of all the feelings and emotions that you fi?nd hard to feel and the reasons why. For example, disloyalty can be a huge block when it comes to expressing how you feel about a family member, as is the resulting guilt. Or maybe a particular feeling is too painful to feel so you avoid it (write down how) and so on.

7 The 'right' words are always your words, insert exactly how you feel into the set up statement and repeat the words/feelings that have the biggest emotional charge for you as a reminder phrase. If you doubt that you can 'find' the right words, tap on trusting your self.

8 Experiment with the karate chop point and the sore spot and see which is more effective at correcting psychological reversal (any objection, conscious or unconscious, that you may have to healing). Change the words you use, put feeling into them, shout, scream, cry, tune in to that energetic disruption.

9 You can tap on physical or emotional symptoms, our body speaks our mind, so both are tappable. Very often, how we feel about having a physical symptom/dis-ease will be a repeating emotional/energetic pattern in our life, once resolved, the dis-ease or symptoms usually fade too.

10 If you are feeling really upset or overwhelmed, continuously tap until you feel calmer, even on one point, the collar bone or gamut spot for example, you don't need to say anything as you are already tuned in to what disturbed you. This really is an ideal time to tap if you can stay with how you're feeling.
