EFT Tapping: What You Are Expecting Is What You Are Manifesting

Way too often, we focus our attention on what could go wrong, what's not right, what doesn't change. It's so unfortunate that we've been conditioned this way, because while we feel like it's safe to expect the worst, we really attract that into our lives just by focusing on it.

What are you expecting in your near or distant future?

What do you expect in relationship to your body?

This is a question I want you to think about honestly, without adding positive but insincere fluff. Listen to your inner chatter about the results you've had physically. Or are you complaining to yourself that you haven't had the results that you want? All this noise is sucking up your energy and taking your focus on the possibility of success.

It's important for you to realize that what you focus on is what you are attracting into your life. What you expect, you will receive. So if you are expecting nothing to ever change, it won't. If your expectation is that it's too hard to wake up early enough to work out or it's impossible to eat right, then you have already taken away any possibility for it to happen.

Can you start to change your thoughts from expecting failure to expecting success?

Changing your thoughts may seem difficult at first. If it is, it's only because you've been conditioned for a lifetime to think another way. Just like it took you a long time to make the old way of thinking habitual, so will it take a little practice to reverse your thoughts.

Imagine for a moment what your life would be like if all of your energy was directed to positive expectation? What could happen physically if you expected your future body to be more energetic, healthier, and more fit? The answer is that your mind would start searching and finding that as a result.

Here's a tapping routine to start to break up negative expectations and bring in more energy for the possibilities:

Karate chop point: Even though I've always expected nothing to change, I choose to look at things differently now

Even though I have so much proof that I've always been stuck, I choose to expect something different for my future

Even though I feel the need to focus on what's not working in my life, I now choose a better way

Eyebrow: Nothing ever changes for me. Why would now be any different?

Side of eye: It doesn't feel natural or right for me to expect success

under the eye: What if I have positive expectations and nothing changes?

under nose: I don't want to pretend that things are better than they are.

chin: It feels better to focus on what's not working

collar bone: It's not smart to ignore what's not working with my body

Now for the positive round:

Eyebrow: What if my future could be different? Just by changing my focus?

Side of eye: I can try expecting success and see what happens.

under the eye: I'm willing to expect a positive change

under nose: I realize that my thoughts and expectations are shaping my future reality

chin: I'm reaching for a higher thought vibration of positive results in my life

collar bone: I can create more energy in my life when I look at what IS working with my body.

Make this week's practice to focus on what is working and what IS possible. When that little voice starts to criticize, or convince you that nothing is going to change; that you will always look a certain way or that you'll never be strong enough, start to tap on those beliefs and thought patterns. If EFT Tapping Gave You A Cold Or Flu

I often get people contacting me saying that they think they got flu or a cold as a result of doing EFT or other energy work, such as Reiki, kinesiology, or hands-on healing. Of course, any healing modality can have what is called a healing reaction or healing crisis. This is when symptoms suddenly appear after a session. It can include backache, headache, stiff neck and shoulders, tears, anger, moodiness, a rash, and flu or cold symptoms. Such a strong reaction is rare and will soon pass. Most people simply sleep a little more than normal after an EFT session and may feel tired for a day or so afterwards as their energy settles.

This particular article concentrates on flu and cold symptoms in particular. Whilst of course it is possible to get cold or flu as a healing crisis after EFT, there is another train of thought that is often presented to me, and in my opinion unnecessarily. Sometimes people write to me and ask if they are psychologically reversed or resistant, citing getting flu after a session. They wonder if getting flu is because part of them does not want to heal and attend that social occasion, work presentation, job interview, or hot date that they were doing EFT about. Of course, it may well be that the EFT work did not manage to catch all the aspects, so part of the tapper was still afraid of the forthcoming event and as a result ended up with flu. And it is well-known that stress reduces immunity. So that makes perfect sense.

And sometimes people say that they tapped whilst coming on with flu about a forthcoming stressful event, ended up with full-on flu and could not attend. However, let us look at this from another angle. What if the coming on with flu was the reason why the tapper missed many aspects of tapping on the emotional event? This would have left them more prone to fully allowing the flu virus into their body than a more specific tapping for the top priority of the moment. Let me explain. EFT works when we are being specific. The same goes for flu as for any emotion. So by tapping for ?this flu?, we are probably more likely to get results from the tapping. If we had tapped for the flu, then maybe we could have made the event.

The ?physical? affects the ?emotional? just as the ?emotional? affects the ?physical?, and as a scientist by training, I find it hard to make a distinction between the two. For example, I have helped people with depression when we discovered they had a problem with the Borna virus and tapped on that. The Borna virus has been linked to depression. And Adenovirus 36 can cause weight gain, and after finding and tapping on that, my client?s weight often normalises. Another example is a common yeast overgrowth called Candida. This can cause depression, nervousness, irritability, and forgetfulness. By tapping regularly on ?this candida?, I have witnessed remarkable results. I honestly do not know how this happens but have observed it too many times to ignore it. So, if you think you are coming down with flu, it is a good idea for you to tap on ?this flu? or ?this virus?, every hour on the hour, as well as any other tapping you need to do.

EFT Tapping For Fear Of Failure

Fear of failure could block your success and keep you in failure-mode. This is because our thoughts do indeed become our reality. When we think of failure very intensely, then we have a big block in our path to success. So, how do we release this block?

I like using EFT tapping, because it is very versatile and robust. There are some very good ways to do EFT, but for the novice, these very simple suggestions should get you started.

1. Find something very specific you want to do that triggers this fear of failure. EFT works best when we are being specific. So instead of tapping for ?fear of failure?, we tap for a specific aspect and ideally, a specific event. A few examples from my experience are:

Quitting smokingLosing weightGetting promotedGetting a jobGoing for an auditionGetting a dateMaking more money

2. Now think of a near-future event involving this thing. For example from the above:

Fear of failure as you think of quitting smoking by this time next weekFear of failure as you think of asking your boss for a promotionFear of failure as you think of attending an audition tomorrow

3. Write down or make a mental note of the future event where you perceive/fear failure. Rate the fear of failure from 10-0 or Small Medium or Large, then tap as follows until 0 or a small number. Setup (on the Karate Chop or Sore Spot): "Even though I have this fear of failure, I love myself anyway."

Reminder (on the rest of the points): "This fear of failure"

If you are tapping for an ongoing situation, let's say job-hunting, you may need to do this tapping on a regular basis until the situation is finally resolved.

If you are new to EFT, do not worry. EFT is short for Emotional Freedom Techniques. It was developed from an earlier method called Thought Field Therapy. EFT has the advantage of being very easily learned and self-applied. It uses a combination of acupressure release plus clever wording that enables this release. I find EFT much more effective than hypnosis or hypnotherapy, as does any other hypnotist or hypnotherapist I know who regularly practises both methods. You can download a free guide or manual from many online resources and get started in less than an hour. Or you can dive right in and work with an experienced practitioner or attend a local workshop.

EFT on Mother's Day - Tapping Before The Brunch Cravings Begin

Just when we thought we were in the clear! Easter is over, the Cadbury Eggs and Peeps are either too hard to enjoy or out of the house completely. You can take a deep breath and thank your lucky stars you won't be faced with the temptation of a deceivingly cute chocolate bunny until next year. (Thank you to whoever made him hollow!)

But around the corner comes Mother's Day, and we must replace the temptation of coconut M&Ms and Robin Eggs (geez, do I know my Easter candy or what!?) with the dreaded brunch buffet with just about everything you forgot you loved so much, with butter to top it off!

Not dreaded so much before-hand. But afterward. After you've gorged yourself with firsts, seconds, and thirds....(plus dessert. Don't tell anyone!)

Here I come to save the day!!

Goodness, how I wish I were a superhero.

Where was I? Oh yes. A tapping routine just for you from my heart with love. As my Mother's Day gift to you...even if you aren't a mommy.

This tapping routine is intended to use before you head out for brunch. If you can, do it a few times, a few days in a row to really get your subconscious mind thinking in the direction you want it to. When you have the cooperation of your subconscious mind, it will be a breeze!

So, starting on the karate chop point:

Even though I'm afraid I'm going to lose control, I choose to remain in control

Even though I just know I'm going to blow it, I choose to make healthy food choices

Even though I always binge at things like this, I choose to make this time different

Tapping through the points:

eyebrow: I'm so afraid I'm going to lose control

side of eye: I just know I'm going to blow it

under eye: I always binge at things like this, why should this time be different?

under nose: I'm afraid I won't be able to say no when all the food looks so good

chin: All that food will look, smell and taste so good!

collar bone: I can't, I won't say "no"!

under arm: What if I lose all control?

top of the head: I'm not that strong. It takes more will power than I have!

eyebrow: I'm still afraid the food will control me

side of eye: but what if this time could be different

under eye: What if smaller portion sizes could be easy?

under nose: What if I could effortlessly serve myself healthy food?

chin: I can handle my own actions

collar bone: I can say no if I choose to

under arm: I am in control of my actions

top of the head: I choose to crave healthy foods today

EFT Tapping - Practical Methods - Four That You Can Utilize

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. It is a simple method for easing emotional pain you may be experiencing. This method has been proven to be clinically effective for the treatment of trauma, panic, abuse, fear, phobia, anxiety, mild cases of depression, and even some addictions. The physical symptoms of emotional stress, like headaches, allergies, pain, breathing problems, and more, can also be addressed with this technique. There are 14 self-administered acupressure points that are used to release you from emotional pain. The results of EFT tapping are usually quickly seen and quite astounding to the one previously in distress.

There are several practical methods that you can use to make EFT tapping work the most for you. One is called Borrowing Benefits. This is a method where you tap along the 14 acupuncture points with someone else. You follow exactly what your leader is saying and where they are tapping to get the greater benefit of working with someone else. Even if your issues are different, you may find that your problems can decrease faster and more significantly when you borrow benefits.

Another idea is to use the Choices Method. In this EFT tapping variation, you use positive affirmations on top of the tapping to make the process even more helpful. There are many EFT affirmations that utilize switchwords to make extraordinary changes in your life.

A final EFT tapping practical method is to use Imaginary or Mental Tapping. Without physically touching the acupuncture points, you can imagine in your mind's eye that you are performing every part of EFT tapping. It is fascinating to learn that this method can be just as effective as actually tapping the spots on your body, thus confirming the power of your intentions. This method can be used at night before you fall asleep when you are too tired to raise your arm or in front of others without them even knowing.

EFT Emotional Freedom Technique Using Tapping As A Self Help Method

E.F.T. stands for "Emotional Freedom Techniques" which were developed by Gary Craig. This method of tapping was derived from the ancient practice of acupuncture. Basically, it is the tapping of meridian points on the body to restore energy balance which eliminates negative emotions.

Your body, like all else in the Universe, is composed of energy. "The cause of ALL negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system." This quote by Gary Craig, is the founding principal of meridian tapping. While tapping, focus on the negative event (a fear, problem, anxiety or what ever is bothering you) by reciting and verbalizing the memory. You tap five to seven times each, on nine of the bodies meridian points. The tapping of meridian energy points in concert with focusing on a problem brings the bodies energy back into balance.

The meridian points on the body are the top of the head, inside portion of the eyebrow, between the eye and temple, under the eye, between the nose and mouth, between the mouth and chin, on the point of the collarbone at the base of the throat and on your side below the arm. You can tap these points in any order. Tap each point five to seven times while verbalizing your problem statement then move on to the next point repeating the statement and continue moving on and repeating the statement until you have done so at all nine points. After completing all nine points, you will want to repeat the sequence twice more.

Your problem statement should be a short declaration of the problem followed by an affirmation of complete acceptance of yourself. An example of a person with a stress problem, their problem statement could be similar to this: "Even though I am suffering from stress, I completely and totally accept myself".

With a little bit of practice, you can perform this technique quickly and as many report, get amazing results. Since it is based on the ancient Chinese medicine, the concept of "Chi" and the bodies energy fields, the concept of tapping certainly has merit. Although some consider Tapping as unscientific, it is the power of your mind that can benefit your well-being. Any method that helps you to recognize, face and deal with an issue, puts you on the path to self-improvement.

EFT Tapping? You Cannot Be Serious, It's the Most Ridiculous Thing I Have Ever Seen!

In Western medicine we tend to focus on the disease rather than the person. Pain in the back will be treated as a physical problem and treated with painkillers or physiotherapy. In holistic health and wellbeing however, the focus is on the whole person. We are all comprised of three parts - Mind, Body and Spirit or Soul. These three are one unit and holistic health focuses on addressing all three by bringing people to a state of wholeness in Mind, Body, and Spirit. Holistic therapy will consider whether emotional issues have played a part in causing pain which is manifesting itself as back pain.

Maybe you think this all sounds a bit touchy-feely, but I'm sure you've seen for yourself how your emotions can have a physical impact on your body - butterflies in your stomach before an important meeting; your mouth going dry; that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach.

Most times however it is more subtle, and you may not even be aware of the impact. Damage can be long lasting and childhood traumas can surface as physical pain and disease in adulthood. These can be treated with painkillers and other medicines, but unless the underlying emotional cause is addressed they will continue to cause problems. Your mind tries to protect you by burying the problem, but it won't go away until it has been addressed. Tackling it is best done by bypassing the watching, protective, conscious mind and getting to the underlying issue. EFT tapping is a powerful techniques for addressing these deep seated emotional issues. The amazing thing is, it often delivers results where everything else has failed.

EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique is a unique therapy and, until you have experienced the benefits for yourself, it is very easy to be sceptical about how effective it can be. During a session, various points on the body are tapped. These points are on the body's energy lines and the tapping clears blockages, freeing trapped energy and restoring balance. EFT has been described as being like acupuncture but without the needles. During a round of tapping the client focuses on the problem. Unlike other 'talk' therapies like Cognitive Behavioural therapy it doesn't require any analysis or discussion of an issue, rather it works directly on the blockage. So instead of focussing on the trauma the client will focus on the pain. That can make it a less traumatic experience. Releasing the energy will address the root cause and address the pain. However, EFT should be handled with care since blocked emotions can release powerful feelings.

I have used EFT for various physical ailments including a bee sting and muscular pain and am always surprised by how quick and effective it is. EFT will deliver results very quickly. EFT will help you deal with emotional blocks, phobias releasing physical pain. One session, lasting no more than 30 minutes can have immediate and long lasting effects.

What is EFT?

The Emotional Freedom Techniques - EFT - uses tapping certain points to free our emotional blockages. Perhaps, there is no better time to understand the relationship between emotional problems and health, than now. But, the wonderful thing about EFT is that it demonstrates a technique by which we can get rid of these emotional problems by tapping.

The ancient Chinese Acupuncture system uses a certain Meridian Energy System in its healing process of different ailments. EFT tapping utilizes that very same system to help remove emotional energy blocks.

Does EFT Tapping Work?

Yes, it works. Thousands of people around the world are practicing and benefiting from this wonderful technique. Some of the present applications of this include psychotherapy, treating obsessions and phobias, weight-loss, handling stress and anger, insomnia, quitting smoking and facilitating for success in any field.

The Science of EFT

Modern Psychology confirms that phobias are strong psychological traumas undergone by individuals in recent or obscured past, same as obsessions. There seems to be no logical explanation to these compelling human behaviors, but it is certain that these are the result of strong traumatic experiences of the victims. Modern science does not have a way to release this traumas but it concurs to the cause.

This tapping is associated with certain amount of understanding and resolution. To keep the intention in a fluid state a script is used.

The Tapping Script

This script resembles most hypnotic suggestions. Though these scripts are highly customized as per the nature of the malady, it has three basic parts. The first part pronounces acceptance of the present problem as a part of the self, the second part pronounces that this belief is self-limiting and is the cause of suffering and the third part of the script calls for a strong action to release this emotional problem or belief. The pronouncing of the script and the tapping go hand in hand to get the best results.

EFT Training and Certification

The best thing about EFT tapping is that any average individual can learn it. One can even master the intricate things of EFT tapping with some practice. One can self heal or one can heal others. There are many institutes who give training and certification for this.

Conclusion

EFT tapping is a relatively new technique and is in its infancy. It will take much time and effort for the necessary refinement it needs to become an all-round art to prove efficacious in any situation. It is heartening to see the popularity is has gained in a very short time, but the same popularity may be counter productive for the intrinsic development of this science. Sometimes, out of enthusiasm people include their own fancies into a proven system and corrupt the very thing they love. A Review Of The Tapping World Summit Presentation On Work Productivity And Procrastination

Pamela Bruner's presentation is about productivity and how to overcome procrastination and putting tasks off at your work. Pamela is already a successful businesswoman and already was so when EFT came into her world. Once I heard that at the start of this presentation, my ears perked up. This is obviously someone that knows how to succeed and can genuinely advise us on how to succeed at work.

Causes of wasting time and procrastination in the workplace were discussed. In order to find the cause, Pamela suggests that we ask ourselves what is the downside of doing the task. For example, if you go ahead and make more money, then you may be more successful than your family. Or if you do not know who you will be if you move up to a higher position in work. And a very common worry about finishing projects is fear of criticism, and Pamela gives examples such as fear of finishing your website worrying what people may think.

Another cause of procrastination and lowering of productivity discussed was the need to feel busy. She explained how keeping busy is not necessarily being productive; in other words, that people can be needy of being busy. Pamela also explained that when we are doing a task and allow ourselves to get distracted, it takes 18 minutes to get back into the task. I did not know that before, and it certainly explains a lot. Pamela also discusses the need to do more social media surfing than is needed, emotional eating, compulsive checking of emails, and other unproductive activities that keep people from being more productive at work. Pamela usefully explains how to reduce overwhelm by making a list of tasks and prioritizing them, so that the important ones to your productivity get done.

All the above issues are tappable, of course.

In terms of style of EFT delivery, the interviewer, the lovely Jessica Ortner, asked a very useful question. She asked about Pamela's use of Setup statements that did not stick to the traditional "Even though I have this problem, I deeply love and accept myself" format. Together, they explained to the listener that it was perfectly OK to deviate from the traditional Setup statement. I like that, as sometimes I am doing EFT with clients and they panic when I use anything other than the strictest Setup statement format. This explanation is very helpful to anyone who would go on to use the services of an experienced and skilled EFT practitioner and saves a great deal of worry thinking they have to do it strictly by the book. Jessica also asks about the use of positive phrases in the statements that Pamela uses. Pamela explains that she uses positive statements when the charge has already released somewhat from the situation. She also explains using positives in order to bring forth aspects for healing. This is very important to note, as in my experience, positive statements can be a much gentler way to bring stuff up for release than making a load of negative statements.

And my favorite style discussion in this presentation is this. Pamela explained about how she does EFT on action rather than just tapping on emotions. In other words, considering the action you need to take next and tapping on the blocks in your path to that specific action. This is also great for new tappers who need to tap for moving forward, and it goes for any goal, not just business-related ones. Pamela also recommended speaking our business worries as we tap rather than using a traditional tapping procedure. I like that too.

All in all, this presentation gives great tips on how to be more productive at work and gives an insight to EFT newcomers on how we can tap in alternative ways. It is probably the most succinct and information-packed presentation of this year's Summit.

A Review Of The Tapping World Summit Presentation On Redefining and Recreating Work Relationships

Kate Beeders' presentation is about your relationship with your work colleagues and associates. Kate worked for over two decades in the corporate world. Her entry into the EFT world was about just such a challenge. Her then boss had delivered bad news for her, and there would have been a very bleak outcome for Kate had she not chanced upon a practitioner who did EFT with her for the situation. The next day, she calmly renegotiated her contract with her boss and went on to renewed success.

Kate points out the most common complaint of workers about their boss is not being appreciated. Kate recommends tapping before a discussion with your boss. Tapping before a meeting with the boss at work, and in my experience, certainly before any kind of potential conflict situation, is very useful. It can release the emotional blocks that stop us from seeing the situation just as it is rather than loaded with our past baggage.

Kate recommends that we rate the present situation with the boss first, and then go to the underlying issue, maybe one with a parent or teacher. She uses a beautiful Setup ending with "I want to find a way to love and accept myself" instead of "I deeply love and accept myself". This is great in cases when one is feeling less confident and comfortable in their own skin than usual. Kate also makes a suggestion for when you do self-EFT. She suggests that you talk to a mirror and ask yourself what it is about the situation that upsets you, and then tap on whatever comes up.

Kate is a fan of what I call vent-and-tap (or swear-and-tap). She recommends it for those who have a really difficult boss. So basically, you tap on your usual points and vent at that person as if they are in front of you and you could say what you really want to say. This gets a lot of the pent-up feelings out of the way. Kate also recommends that you tap whilst pretending to be your boss and explaining your point of view. I find that this can help you get the bigger picture and feel calmer about the situation.

As well as bosses, Kate makes recommendations for tapping about co-workers. When we tap about issues with co-workers, it removes the emotional blocks that stop us communicating effectively with co-workers and getting more of what we want out of the situation. She gives the example of a woman whose co-worker always left early, leaving her with all the work to finish. As a result of tapping on the situation, this lady was able to communicate her needs calmly and effectively to her colleague, and her colleague stopped leaving early all the time.

A very important lesson from this presentation is that when we change in ourselves, others around us change the way they treat us. In other words, we can change our work environment by changing ourselves. EFT is a great way to move forward with work or any other issue. A Review Of The Nick Ortner Presentation At The Tapping World Summit

Nick Ortner has been using EFT for the past 7 years or so, and primarily for achieving what he wants to achieve in his life. Well, Nick Ortner is surely a testament to how EFT facilitates success. He started by explaining how he made his first EFT film documentary and wow, what he had in the way was what most would have found insurmountable. He did not use an experienced film-maker, he borrowed money from family and credit cards, and just did what he did and succeeded.

Nick gives the example of a woman who changed her energy with EFT before going to a job interview, felt really positive and got the job. He reminds us that the happier and calmer we are, the more success we are likely to have. I love the way he does not go on about vibrational this that and the other. He explains very clearly, without the silly wishy-washy words that abound around the Law of Attraction, how when we have negative emotions in the way, we can easily release them, having focused on them just for a few minutes, releasing them with ease by tapping. I also like how his presentation does not focus only on financial goals but includes relationship and other goals.

Nick advises how to structure our goals. He advises writing down a goal and de-constructing it, to be totally congruent with it. When we break down our goal into a series of mini-goals, we will find that we are not congruent with some of those. This is what we need to tap on in order to succeed. He suggests that we do not walk away from tapping on any emotional block in our path until it is a 3 out of 10 or less. He also suggests that we do not share our goal with people that we know will be negative about it, at least in the initial stages.

One issue that comes up for many people wanting to make their goals come true is lack of funds. He argues the case that to make his film, he borrowed money from family and credit cards, but to be honest, although I know personally that you can get started from scratch, I cannot imagine making that film without the family members who were able to lend him the money. If he was born to a very poor family who was all poor, it would have been different. However, most people listening to this presentation are not in the latter situation, and I found his suggestions very inspiring.

Nick explains that your income is the average of your five best friends, and that this goes across the board with goals, including love and relationships. I found that very profound and true. It was actually a huge shock to realize. It is rare that I come across a piece of information that I had not encountered before, and this is one that I know I have to use in my own personal and professional growth. I will be tapping on it, getting insights, and going more in the direction I should be.

A Review Of The Margaret Lynch Presentation At The Tapping World Summit

Jessica Ortner (host of the series) starts with the introduction that great financial successes like Donald Trump have made their money in hard financial times. She points out that even bankruptcy and hard times are not a block to financial success. Margaret Lynch takes this further by explaining that our own emotions are the block to financial success, and by tapping on our emotional blocks, we change what is on the inside of us, which then changes what happens on the outside of us.

Margaret focuses on money and shares that she has found there are four kinds of money. These are:

Wow! As soon as I heard this, I found my trigger: Savings. That really triggered me. I have attended many of these presentations and benefited wonderfully from some of them, and I expected to have heard it all already. So this is where I have to tap in order to move further in my life. I need to tap on savings. As you look at the list above, which item triggers you? That is what needs to be tapped on.

Margaret points out that debt really affects us at every level. She quotes Kevin Trudeau, a Law of Attraction leader, as saying that debt can really create a negative impact on our money attraction. Margaret says that when we tap on debt, we feel differently about it and pay it off earlier than otherwise expected, without really being bothered about it. Margaret quite rightly says that debt can be a trauma in our life. After all, debt is related to divorce and many other unfortunate life events. Margaret then explains the difference between good debt, such as a mortgage, and bad debt, which is an unnecessary debt that gets us down. She explains that bad debt often involves shame, embarrassment, sadness, and other very negative thoughts. These are unhelpful from the Law of Attraction viewpoint. By tapping on these debt emotions, we release these negative emotions and attract positivity. Setups about debt included "Even though I have this story about my debt... I totally honor my feelings about it... I'd love to let some of that go."

After tapping on the negative, Margaret asks us to remember our positive intention. For example, tapping on our intention of repaying the debt. This is a much more positive energy to send out to the Universe, and this helps us attract more positivity. She suggests that we set our intention to be a better money manager. Setups include things like "I'm just going to be open to the idea that I'm going to pay this debt quickly and easily." Reminders include "I love actually managing money like a millionaire", "I'm saying yes to earning more", and "There's millions of ways I can pay off this debt". In the tapping, we admit that we are not that great money manager today, but we are open to the positive changes.

Margaret reminds us that even though money changes take time, we can be energetically open to this change now. She recommends that we are disciplined about our tapping and tap daily and regularly for as long as is needed in order to move forward to our financial goals. I really like the daily tapping idea. So many tappers expect an instant solution in one session. However, with an ongoing issue that develops day by day and month by month, we need to tap regularly. This can be just a minute at a time. I am a big fan on regular tapping, as I was a Reiki healer first, and this involves self-healing daily, even if for just 5 minutes. I really think this applies to EFT as well. Try regular tapping daily about your finances, and see how you feel. What emotional aspects come up at each different daily tapping can be very different, and Margaret suggests tapping on whatever comes up and not leaving it till later. She also points out that with finances, your own inner critic can be a big factor, and opening this up can really help us move forward.

Although Margaret uses my pet yuck word of "vibration", which normally sends me off into distraction, she explains everything so clearly and logically that my logical scientific mind simply lapped up this presentation. EFT and Insomnia: How EFT Tapping Can Help You Get a Good Night's Sleep

When you're lying sleepless in your bed at night, do you dream of a weekend away at a spa so you can relax enough to sleep peacefully for eight to ten hours at a stretch? Unfortunately, most of us don't have the time or money to go off to a spa every weekend. EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) can help.

EFT tapping is a meridian tapping system that can help with insomnia and the factors contributing to it, like anxiety, stress, pain or anger.

Meridian tapping system? Huh?

In ancient China practitioners discovered places in the body where, when a needle or pressure was applied, this tended to help people with various ailments. EFT tapping uses these same places on the face and upper body while "tuning in" to the problem to help release tension, trauma, anxiety, worry and even the causes of sleeplessness.

If you think meridians are just a figment of some very odd people's imaginations, consider this: the British National Health Service (NHS) is now offering acupuncture for certain conditions, like back ache. The NHS doesn't offer treatments that they know don't work.

In addition, research has shown that places on the skin where the ancient Chinese mapped the meridian points show electrical conductivity that is different to other places on the skin.

However, some people are real insomniacs, which is a chronic condition of not being physically able to sleep no matter how much you want to. With the help of a skilled practitioner asking intelligent questions, people will often remember their insomnia started about the time of a specific event or series of events at a significant point in their lives. The remaining emotion from those events can be addressed with EFT, bringing about restful sleep for the first time in many years.

What Are These Damaging Beliefs?

Imagine if when you were a child you were bitten by a dog because you ran up behind it or something, you would obviously have been frightened, but you learned to be wary of how to approach dog's right? You learnt the lesson and you know what or what not to do, but still as an adult you may have a fear of dog's. This is an irrational fear! It is your sub-conscious mind protecting you because it still has the memory in its bank! This is a negative pattern, we do not need the memory or the pattern anymore, we are adults and we know not to approach the dog in the wrong way! This old memory can affect our life in a negative way.

More Serious!

Now if we have a more serious memory, it can ruin our life completely even though we know we have learnt the lesson, maybe something has developed a serious phobia for us, like being in the company of others? It is irrational thinking but it ruins lives!

This is where tapping gets amazing, to see someone break free of these fears and blocks is truly wonderful!

We All Have Some Negative Stuff!

The negative stuff just belongs to a set of beliefs that no longer serve us, they just hold us back from creating the life that we want to live.

We can just Tap these old beliefs away and be free! Can you imagine just being able to Tap away that annoying fear, or the nervous tremble in your voice when you need to speak confidently? It is truly powerful stuff!

A Belief Is Just A Thought!

If I was to tell you that I live in a tent, you would accept and believe that, but then if I was to tell you that I was joking, I live in a mansion really, you would accept that too. See how easy it is to change the thought? Our mind receives information, accepts it and stores it, but it is that - easy to change.

Emotion.

This is the difference, when there is the emotion of physical pain attached to the information this is when the serious problems arise. When emotion is attached to the belief or the thought, it can become life destroying!

Tapping uncovers all of our beliefs thoughts and emotions so that we are able to re-program our-self for success!

Tapping Balances The Nervous System.

While Tapping we say the belief out loud and this will bring up any corresponding emotion in the nervous system. Then we tap the various pressure points to reset the system. Each point is the end of a nerve channel in the body. Tapping sends a shockwave down that channel removing any blockages.

We cannot know which nerve channel is holding a particular emotion, so we just Tap them all.

When the negative emotion is gone, our mind is no longer attached to the belief. So now our mind can re-program. We let go of that which we don't need.

How to Use Tapping Techniques to Overcome Procrastination

Did you, know when you procrastinate it is costing you financially, mentally, physically and emotionally?

Also depending on what you are procrastinating on, whom or about. It can also have devastating consequences for your friends and family too. Think about it for a moment, what happens if you 'forget' to pay your taxes or mortgage payments? Your procrastination starts to affect more that you.

Procrastination in its simplest form is your own perceived fears and worries about future events. These future memories you build up and play over and over in your mind and body. It is the future pain which you think you'll experience that you are trying to avoid by not doing anything.

So how can tapping help you?

Firstly, most people are afraid of something or someone specific. It's too easy to say I'm afraid of success or I'm afraid of failing. That may be true, but it's is too easy, it's too global a statement.

It's better to answer the following: If I succeed what will happen to me then? Or, what pain am I avoiding by not finishing what I want doing?

You see procrastination is just you putting of a perceived future pain. Nothing more.

You can easily start tapping:

Even though I don't know what pain I'm avoiding I deeply and completely love forgive and accept myself anyway.

Even though I'm afraid of a future event that hasn't even happened yet, I accept all of me just the way I am.

Even I'm worried what will happen when I leave my own comfort zone. I accept all these conflicts within me.

What about your family and friends? If you succeed how will they react? This is a huge area that will on some level be holding you back.

How can tapping help you here?

Even though I'm afraid to earn more than my parents. I choose to let go of this belief as it no longer serves me.

Even though I'm afraid I'll be shouted at like was when I was a child because I was successful then and my father didn't like it.

Even though I'm afraid how my parents will react when I'm successful. After all they struggled all their lives and told me everything had to be difficult. I chose to let this belief to as it no longer supports me.

Even though my friends don't like rich and successfully people and I really want them to like me. I deeply and completely accept all of me.

Try these EFT tapping rounds for starters. You'll be amazed at what can happen if you tap on these several times.

The sense of calm, maybe a few aha moments, projects that don't seem so big and are much easier to start.

Relationship Surrogate Tapping For Partner Not Telling The Truth

This is the result of my many years of ongoing training, experience, and collaboration with others as an energy, or light-worker. If it does not quite gel with you, you can tweak to to whatever works for you. Say you are tapping for your partner not telling the truth. This may be about your relationship, about partner's job, debt they are in, or anything that bothers you. This tapping script is for the situation. In other words, we are tapping for the situation, and not tapping on your partner to force him or her to tell the truth. Try it and see how you feel.

First of all, there is the Highest Good to be addressed. The following tapping is to be done without SUDS, as the result is one of insights that are not measurable in terms of numbers 0-10.

Here is a Setup to prepare you for this. Do the whole thing three times on the Karate Chop or the Sore Spot, whichever you usually use:

"Even though I don't know if [partner's name] is telling me the truth about [issue], I ask for healing for this situation. I am willing to open my mind to new possibilities. There may be good solutions I have never considered before. I am willing to open my mind to concept of the Highest Good. What I think is good for me may not be what is best for me. I am a human being. As a human, I admit that I am fallible. I admit that my emotions may rule my head. I admit that my emotions may rule my heart. I ask the Universe/God to help guide me. I ask that EFT removes emotional blocks I may have. These blocks may stand in the way between me and what is best for me. These blocks may stand in the way between me and what is best for the situation. I am only a fallible human, and that's OK. I love, accept, and forgive myself. I am open to loving, accepting, and forgiving [partner's name] for any emotional blocks that they may have. These blocks may stand between us and what is best for us. I ask that these emotional blocks are removed. I ask for guidance towards the Highest Good. I allow healing from the Universe/God/Mother Earth, for the Highest Good. The Highest Good is good for me, now and in the future. I allow guidance and healing. I allow myself healing and unconditional love. I choose to remove any blocks I have to healing. I choose to be patient whilst this healing takes place. I allow healing. I allow the light into my life. I allow the light into my being. I allow the light into every cell of my body. I allow the light to guide my soul. I allow healing for the Highest Good".

This is followed by this Reminder:

"I allow guidance towards the Highest Good".

Repeat this procedure a few times, and see what insights come to you. What messages do you get intuitively when you think about these insights? Whatever comes up for you is also a tappable issue. In the meantime, when you have finished with a surrogate session, it is good practice to do an energetic disconnect. You can see this as a cord between you and the other person (or between you and a picture of the situation) being cut. Also saying thanks for the healing is good. It make s very formal end-point and ends it on a good note.

Presentation on Food Cravings At The Tapping Summit

Sandi Radomski gave a very good presentation on food cravings at the Tapping Summit this year. I like Sandi's presentation in that she does highlight the physiological part and does not pretend that it is all in the head. She explains how cravings for food were important in the success of the human race. She explains that we were hard-wired to obtain high energy food, and that we have to overcome this in order to overcome cravings. She then goes on to explain that when people who need to satisfy an urgent craving for food most of the time, the brain, neuroreceptors, and neurotransmitters are involved. It is certain substances that she identifies as being involved in this, much like alcohol affects an alcoholic. These tend to be sugars and carbohydrates. They are connected with serotonin. Sandi suggests that sugars and salts make the problem worse. My inference from this presentation is that someone with this problem can, just like the alcoholic, remove these sugars and salty foods from their diet. This is where EFT can help. Although Sandi does not mention it, I find that people who are happy to do a Metabolic Typing or Nutritional Typing sort of nutritional plan become more balanced. The only problem from my experience is when beliefs are involved, for example, if a vegetarian is highly dependent on high carbohydrate foods when they ideally are recommended to eat mainly a meat-based diet for their body type.

Sandi also highlights how we respond to commercials and suggests that we tap on the advertising of these culprit foods. I would go further and tap on the way food is presented in a restaurant or supermarket.

Sandi gives us a tapping suggestion involving the brain and chemical imbalances therein. For example:

?My body knows how to have a normal release and reaction to dopamine?

She also suggests we tap for a normal amount of dopamine receptors. Having worked with Sandi's system successfully with myself and many clients, I like the dopamine angle.

She combines this in the presentation with tapping for the sight, smell, and thought of favorite foods. This is great for most people. In my experience however, for some people, there is no favorite, and they want to eat anything at all all day long. She also later taps on the pleasure given by food. However, again, although in my experience this works for most people, for some people with a really bad food addiction, they are in total denial about this pleasure. I would have liked to see something in the presentation on how to bring this category of food addict out of this denial.

In conclusion, I think this presentation is great for a good majority of food addicts. I like the explanation of the neurotransmitter connection, and it is good to tap for the physical as well as the emotional. Tapping Therapy and Massage As Effective Pain Relief Techniques

Energy healing, through EFT tapping and massage can physically relieve pain through stimulating the release of the natural pain relieving hormone, Calcitonin. This natural hormone has effects even stronger than morphine and is considered by some natural health practitioners and researchers to be the best pain reliever the body can make. Besides acting to dissolve pain, this hormone, when it is released produces a feel-good and relaxing effect in the body. EFT therapy also helps clear old trauma and old memories that may otherwise be blocking the free flow of our bio-energetic field. When our energy system is blocked this often results in symptoms such as pain and stiffness.

Tapping and Massage for Pain Relief

With this EFT technique start from the bottom or lowest point, i.e the feet and work your way towards the top, i.e. the head. First massage the areas described below for about half a minute, followed by fairly robust tapping with the fingers for another half a minute.

Acupuncture point (Kidney point) on the ball of the foot (about an inch down from the space between the big and second toe) under the foot. Massage with the right hand clockwise and then tap vigorously.Outside the ankle, between the ankle bone and the Achilles tendon. Again massage and tap.Behind the knees, right in the centre. Repeat the massaging and tapping action.Move your hand along the collarbone up to the shoulder and then again massage and tap.Go to the side of your Adam's apple, between the larynx and the muscle there. Pinch it hard to stimulate the acupuncture point (don't massage this area). Then go back towards the muscle about an inch down below the angle of the jaw and tap there.Top of head. Massage and tap.

Part of the reason this EFT technique works so well is because you are focusing on something other than the pain, but it also works because of the stimulation of the acupuncture points which releases blockages in the body's electro-magnetic flow and stimulates the release of the powerful pain reliever, Calcitonin.

It can often work better if you combine this tapping with some focused statements, such as:

- I forgive myself for anything I may have done to contribute to this pain.

- I forgive anyone else for anything they may have done to contribute to this pain.

- I am willing to let go of all connections to this pain in my body, my mind, in my relationships and in my past and present.

- I am so grateful for this healing now.

Exercise Pains and Stresses Away

Exercise is also a major component of healing and health and probably more important than many people realise. Apparently it raises one's DHEA levels which are essential for health and well-being. Low DHEA levels are often associated with aging and an increased risk of cancer, memory loss, lowered immune function, decreased energy levels, weight gain, greater risk of osteoporosis and heart disease. So exercising can help slow down the aging process, boost the immune system and lower the risks of more serious diseases whilst making you feel good at the same time.

What To Say For Addiction Tapping With EFT - A Quick Guide

One of the frequently asked questions in my inbox is ?what do you say or tap on for an addiction?? The addiction may vary. The more physically, economically, and socially challenging addictions may require a team effort, a physical rehab, or perhaps just liaison with the medical practitioner (unless the medical practitioner is doing the EFT). Having said that, the tapping procedure itself is pretty much the same with any addiction. This is a brief step-by-step guide.

1. Find out what emotions the addiction is trying to compensate for. For example, grief, anger, sadness, fear, terror, disappointment, shame, overwhelm, to name just a few emotions. Then ask if there was one incident, even if out of many that involved this emotion which comes up, which would it be. Get this event and it them to zero. Repeat with a number of events. You can perhaps tap one event per session, at the start of the session, or go through several in one session. Whether you do this all in one session or spread out over a number of sessions depends on time, preference, and how many events there may be. For example, if this is a series of childhood abuse incidents involving serious trauma, it could take months or even years. If this is something relatively lighter, it could take one session.

2. Identify a cravings incident that was followed through. Ask ?On a scale of 10-0, if you were to relive the incident, on a scale of 10-0, how likely are you to follow through with the urge?? Tap for the need to engage in the addiction if the incident were relived. Continue doing so until it becomes zero. Repeat with a number of cravings events. You can probably do several in one session. If there are many aspects to each event, you may even not finish working on one event by the end of the session. That is OK. Everyone goes at their own pace. Take one step at a time.

3. At the end of the session, a positive tapping affirmation is always good. An addiction can really be very frustrating. The addict may be fed up with the compulsive behavior and impatient to get out. Or they may be free from it, but it takes a few weeks to cement a new thought pattern into one?s being, so it is good to tap in a positive statement each day. Some examples include, but are not limited to ?I choose to be calmly free?, ?I am now free from this habit?, or ?I choose to live healthily without dependence, easily and calmly?.

4. Should any elements of the addiction have been missed or not completely worked on, there may or may not be an unexpected craving afterwards. Should this happen, just tapping on ?Even though I have this craving...? in the situation can help. Other suggestions are ?Even though I need this...? or ?Even though for whatever reason, I am upset and triggered...? or ?Even though I thought I was over this and feel overwhelmed...?

5. Repeat 1-5 until the addiction is firmly and definitely a thing of the past.
